I cannot express how much I love 2D oldschool games, and Creepypasta games, and this is an amazing mix of both. I am sorry if You haven't played but I have to mention the Creepypasta part and how It gets to You outta nowhere. This is great, and I hope achievements can be implemented into the game. Also (bug report), there are spanish messages on the inventory
Great game. Great music. Great magic system. Great ponies. Great doritos (if you know, you know).
As my friend PLukol's first ever Steam published game, Violet Mind and the Mysterious Island was a very VERY fun game to play through! You play as Violet Mind and have to investigate a village and lots of areas to find out what's going on. It's a sidescroller metroidvania game with lots of upgrades you can get along with optional ones like ones to increase your damage, ones to increase your max HP, ones to increase the explosion range of your shots, different types of shot patterns, and more! There's also mandatory colored keys you have to find to be able to open different colored locks/gates and lots of bosses along with three endings! The game was really fun and has replayability if you wanna do some challenges like no Damage Ups, and etc! If you're a MLP fan, you should play this game!
Friendship is Magic
Violet Mind and The Mysterious Island, czyli chyba najprawdopodobniej pierwsza pełnoprawna kucykowa metroidvania jaka kiedykolwiek powstała i to na dodatek stworzona przez niezależnego twórcę.
Violet Mind and The Mysterious Island is a cute classic 2d platformer with metroidvania exploration mixed with dark/horror elements. The core gameplay is okay, classic platformer, jump, dodge and shoot with mechanics where the player must use the right kind of magic (pure magic, fire, ice, electricity) and sometimes even combine them to overcome obstacles. Each area/biome isn't too big so the game doesn't feel monotonous + there are a lot of secrets. The music in the game is really good. There are over 50 soundtracks, where each location/boss fight/special event has unique ost. (My favorite soundtracks: 01 – Main Theme, 27 - Light of Awakening, 30 - Frozen Bubbles, 34 - Hot Magma In Your Zone) The controls are fine. I played with a controller and the only problem is the mapping of the ‘Patterns’. Patterns are how we fire magic bullets. In the game you can find about 8 basic patterns, each of which probably has its own alternative version. The problem is that the more basic patterns you have, the more difficult it will be to select the right one with just one button. It's a bit of a pain. Boss Fights... well... there are many boss fights, some of them are more special... Even though they look cool, fighting them is not very satisfying. As you progress through the game, bosses become more like sponges, bombarding the screen with random projectiles. Boss fights are unnecessarily long and boring and often seem simply unfair. The worst part is that the best tactic for defeating them is to stand as close as possible and spam them with projectiles as quickly as possible. For some reason special ability for pure magic deals like 400dmg that ruins a few early fights. Story... well the game has a story, but I have mixed feelings about it. Someone shows up, someone is bad, someone is good but not, then someone dies, and so on. Maybe the problem isn’t the story itself, but the way it has been showed. There are no emotions, no moments for reflection, the action just keeps going. Friends trapped in this world are just static NPCs with a single line of dialogue. Meh The overall quality of the game is... average. There are occasional minor graphical glitches, some dialogues can be triggered multiple times, enemies walk/fly through walls, in some places you can clip through the map, one boss can escape from the arena and never return, other boss can be defeated before fight. The worst thing the game dev did was use built-in screen transitions, which made many of the transitions look like a PowerPoint presentation. Performance, game can slow down in some situations. All in all, the developer spent at least five years if not more creating this game. I think the game is good it has a variety of levels, exploration, hidden upgrades, puzzles and a great soundtrack but the other aspects of the game need more polishing. For now, I’d give it a 6/10 but I hope the dev will improve the quality of the game.
A great game, very reminiscent of 8-bit or 16-bit games. The music is good and the gameplay is great. I haven't found any bugs; just read the instructions carefully. If you can try it, do it—it's a lot of fun.
Podczas potyczki czuć determinację i satysfakcję z pokonania go (mam tu na myśli bossami przy good endingu).
