Garbage, don't waste your time or money on this!!!!! Plus fake reviews
it could actually be decent, but it is definitely not worth the $$ as-is. refund requested after 19mins of gameplay and I completed 2 levels this is not a fake review and I rarely review games
Pros: - enjoyable atmosphere with the voice actor sounding pretty neat (though a little repetitive) - beautiful graphics, not overly demanding yet pretty - the setting is well made and the menu/submenus do feel as part of the game and not just "put on top" Cons: - the controls aren't really polished. The axes fly fairly weird, a slight rotation maxes them spin incredibly fast, the path is sometimes a little wobbly and so on. The momentum feels fairly on point though. Overall, it's not enough to keep up a good immersion in VR in my opinion. - optimisation sometimes lacking/bad choice of graphic effect; on my R9 390 the game runs smoothly, but transitioning between scenes/levels makes the game stutter a lot. Even though I'm not sensitive to VR sickness, it doesn't feel that good... - the gameplay itself feels fairly slow Personally, I like the game except the most essential part - the way the gameplay was implemented. The VR controls simply feel off and that kills such a game for me. The game simply doesn't keep me entertained for longer than that novelty effect created by the setting and the graphics. I can't really recommend it at the current price tag - and I actually managed to get it at a fair discount.
You know what VR needs? Another wave defense game! https://youtu.be/trU3F19qetg Overall, Viking Rage isn't a bad game. I liked the attitude and the presentation. It's a solid wave defense title. Therein lies the problem though. I've always been quick to defend a good wave shooter/wave defense title, however even I'm getting tired of seeing them. I had expectations that didn't match what the game was. I try to intentionally go into these games blind without being colored by anyone else's opinion. I was expecting something a bit more adventure-ish. So needless to say I was a bit let down by the fact the game is a simple wave defense title. That being said, it's a decent game if you're not as jaded as I am yet. Currently there are 6 levels to work through. The visuals and audio are not bad but nothing to write home about. There is a decent level of difficulty. Especially if you're as bad at sportsing as I am. My accuracy with the axes is ♥♥♥♥♥. The balance of the weapons does seem to be well done though. Thrown axes are pretty much a one shot kill while the much easier to use bow and arrow that has a guide for the arrows path take several hits to kill. As a wave defense game, it's pretty decent and as such it will get a thumbs up. I really want to seem more in depth games though. Something that's going to grab me and make me want to do a whole series of videos like Vertigo.
I just got my Vive new, but i played some different games on friends places or conventions and watched a lot of gameplay videos. so i have to say Viking Rage is really worth the money cus it brings way more features and things to explore with it than most of the other vive games i've tried. the physics are great and the graphics are cartoonish in a very good way. 3D Audio is also implemented so i would use headphones for playing this game, but it works just fine on speakers as well. i also like that there are minigames within the game, but u have to find them in the mainhall, and i think u have to unlock them first. overall a very worth trying out for everyone owning a HTC Vive.
Sehr cooles Game! Mehr davon! :-)
finally a VR game with good amount of content. Some serious work must have been put in this well thought out piece of quality software, that seeks its competitors in the new top spot of steam VR games. Get ready to enjoy gameplay, which other games lack soo poorly and start seeing your beeing changing into a viking yourself, who uses every weapon at it's times disposal to counter whatever challenge is thrown at you. A must buy, if you're the proud owner of one of these trendy VR Headsets and want to completely emerge yourself into some viking action, you couldn't have anywhere else besiedes here. Serious potential, i guarantee it.
Having already played some Tower Defense VR games, i started into this game with more a "meh another td game" than "hey look another td game". But I was shown wrong pretty soon. - The enemy design is great and interesting in big parts (look up some enemies in their preview room) - a level doesnt get boring after 2 minutes, greatly because of the several "solutions" you can use to successfully complete a level - you can love and hate the ice giant at the same time ! - hidden minigames and "puzzles" throughout the game - the lowpoly design is nicely done and even though you have seen it tons of time now, it doesn´t get boring Having played with 2 friends, none of us got an boring evening. Just be careful with those axes (controller). Already smashed 1 mirror in the last playing session. :D Tl:dr: Buy it, its one of the better vr games!
Hodnocení 4/10, Splněné Achievementy 10 z 13, Vyzkoušeno s Valve Index, Curator
https://youtu.be/RmclFq9ouG8 Už jsem hrál několik Tower Defense a Wave Shooter VR her, takže mám s čím porovnávat.
The game completely ignores my Valve controllers, and rebinding them didn't seem to matter. Makes it literally unplayable, since I can't move my hands in-game.
