About
On the barren island of Nuraga, you're stranded in the desert with your Grandpa. Your bull died of exhaustion, and Grandpa is too tired to march. Luckily, you've found shelter in ancient ruins where Grandpa can rest and you can look for food beneath the sand.
But when instead of desert potatoes you dig up ancient relics, Grandpa starts acting strange. He pushes you to dig deeper and deeper, heedless of the eerie atmosphere that permeates the ruins and the mysterious events happening around you.
The Old Flesh of Nuraga is a short narrative psychological horror game with treasure-hunting, branching dialogues, and multiple endings.
Use a divinatory bell to reveal hidden objects beneath the sand. Its ringing shows you where to search. Once you've found something, clean it of dirt, but be careful not to damage it.
Many items await you. Some are mundane, like a potato; others are cursed relics of a forgotten age; a few are alive. But all of them will change your fate, for better or worse.
Your Grandpa is the only family you have left after the death of your parents. He raised you with love, but he is getting old and frail.
Grandpa lived a long life. He made mistakes. He has regrets. He hides secrets. In the midst of the seeping madness, you may discover sides of him you've never imagined. Will you stay with him nevertheless? Or leave him with his sins to rot under the sun?
Nuraga is an ancient land with a long history, most of which has been forgotten. Legends survive, but they are only pale reflections of more sinister truths.
A cohort of characters lurk among the ruins: a Tomb Raider, a Warrior, a Mother, a Demon, and many others. Depending on your choices, you may or may not find them. Witness their decay and shape their final moments.

A mysterious tale fueled by folk-lore. Best experienced blind. Great visual style/atmosphere, well-written and witty dialogue, and a captivating horror story with branching paths for multiple endings. An un-nerving experience I wont forget.

This game has a incredibly cool atmosphere and it's *really* well written. Just play it. I am from Sardinia - the island where all the creepy statues and relics come from - and I can say that this game is 100% approved :)
The Old Flesh of Nuraga is a psychological horror game set in the middle of a desert. You and your grandfather have to take a rest at a mysterious ruin, and while you're digging for potatoes to make a warm meal, you also find all sorts of other things.. I discovered the demo through the Steam group "attraction to the stranger" and was instantly hooked. Since the full version was released the very next day, I jumped right into it. I really appreciate how the full game handles the dialogues. Even though you revisit the same conversations as in the demo, the additional dialogue options add a completely new layer to the narrative. The way the story unfolded through these new choices was actually, absolutely surprising. I love the gameplay loop of searching for and unearthing ancient "things", my only criticism is the dust-removal mechanic; it feels a bit too fast in the final release, whereas I personally found the pacing in the demo more satisfying. I’ve only completed one of the four endings so far but I'm already super excited to see how the other endings unfold. It's hard to describe what The Old Flesh of Nuraga is particularly about, without spoiling anything, but as the developer himself said: The game contains references to madness and psychological torment and addresses the slow erosion of a person by the act of caring for another. That being said, I highly recommend it to anyone who loves morbid, surreal art and the charm of short, unique indie horror games. A bit of Lovecraft, a bit of Beksiński and a lot of "I need more of this obscure gem". It's seriously underpriced for the awesome vibe it offers.
I mean it's aight for just 4$, spoilers ahead but it leaves too much open-ended to feel satisfying and the themes either make no sense or just are too uninteresting. Firstly is all the endings blow, either you get the trope far cry 4 ending and just win at the beginning by leaving and nothing happens, or 3 other endings where you lose, lose, or "win", but actually you just lose (get old). I'm fine with bad endings if they subvert expectations or have some build up but there was 0 chance to feel like I could have won so I didn't really feel any sense of loss because there was nothing to hold onto. Secondly is the theme of taking care of others sucks the life out of you through repetition, yeah that's a good theme but we literally have a giant cosmic horror mystery going on in front of us but we have basically no play in it other then the fact you HAVE to have dug up the items or else there would be 0 gameplay. I'm kinda more interested in the giant black hole Tor in the sky and where they came from and the age of witches ruling through magic powers and stuff compared to my old grandpa ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about boar sausage or whatever. And why keep hinting at the fact that Cindra would have been such a great witch and could have had such potential and mental fortitude, then do nothing with it? Like no secret 5/4 ending or nothin? I don't know I'd probablly give a in-between rating if steam gave it but yeah I feel like its just the first rough draft of world-building and then its not fleshed out, and you kinda just rambled random names and places to make it seem like there's something there when there isn't. Also you can just press ~ and pull up the dev menu so I think yall forgot about that too
I really want to be nice about this because I genuinely like the ideas, theme, and overall concept, but right now the game is basically unplayable with a controller. The UI is still stuck on keyboard and mouse, and the controller buttons fell andomly picked and there are also bugs where bad RNG can seemingly break progression entirely. I really like what the game is trying to do, and there’s a lot of potential here, but the current bugs seriously get in the way of the experience. My advice would be to wait for a patch before playing. I’m hoping these issues get fixed because I’d really like to come back to it once it’s in a better state.
开始游戏 不显示鼠标 很费劲 然后需要中文 再好的游戏 也怕看不懂剧情 游戏也停卡的 优化不行 倒是还挺好玩
here we go - this is the only review you need to fully grasp what's going on and i must say i wish there was a button for neither good or bad, as the game definitely doesn't deserve a bad review but also its not a game i would recommend. why is that you might ask? - its not a game, its barely a game, its more of a interactive 3d short film where u can move around and press stuff. what makes a game - a game, is physically playing and having some challenges where you can perhaps fail or succeed, something requiring a tiny bit of skill perhaps acquired while playing the game, i don't even know how to describe it but there's no game here, you just click and watch a story unfold, and the ability to move in 3 dimensions and go and click where you please or observe the surrounding area is like almost the only thing separating this from flipping pages on a book or watching an actual film/cartoon. pros of the game - the story is interesting and the visuals and the atmosphere are cool and beautiful. there also was an emotional rollercoaster where it gets really scary and you feel tense like there's about to be a jumpscare on the screen and the game was a little scary on some occasions. There were some funny things in the game as well and it did definitely make me smile and enjoy the story. the game also allows you to make decisions which give you different outcomes and impact the end of the story. cons of the game - same thing as stated in the beginning, this feels like a game made by all artists and not anyone who actually plays games. the visuals and the story is beautiful and engaging but theres 0 challenge and nothing that makes a concept into a game, like theres nothing to do in the game. you cant look for anything interesting in a sand as what you find is predetermined based on where you are in the story. you cant run from any creatures or hide. theres no puzzles involved that you have to solve. at one point when i was trynna unlock last few achievements i thought i entered a maze because the building was layed out like it and i got excited - im like finally a challenging puzzle! but no, i just had to go around to the other side. final thoughts - should you buy the game? is it worth it? 4$ is a fair price i would say, whether you wanna play it depends on you, if you like interesting stories and visuals to go with it then yes go for it. if you expect to actually have some action or puzzles to solve or anything that can challenge you in any way then this is not it. also i must warn this game is extremely short, you can take good time reading the story and interacting with everything, and see all the endings the game has, as well as unlock all the achievements under 2 hours. theres literally no more content then 2 hours. I had the game done under 2 hours, but i chose not to refund it to show my appreciation to the devs because its beautifully crafted story and visuals and more or less i enjoyed this 2 hours, however im leaving negative review because of wasted potential to make something for fun and engaging. game feels like an intelligent A+ student choosing to do bare minimum that will suffice cause he is feeling lazy that day to give it his all and submit an exceptional work.
A perfectly fun experience for the price, sitting in the 2-3 hour range for full completion with all endings if you're one who strives for such things. Interesting story with just enough intrigue to educate you on the world of the game without bogging you down with excessive amounts of set dressing and LORE. The game (at the time of writing) has some minor issues here and there: My biggest grievance is sound balancing. As a headphone user, pretty much ALL of the sound effects beyond the general ambience and speech noises are likely to blow your eardrums out. The only option for audio control seems to be a master volume slider, which isn't gonna save you from the bombardment of noises once they decide to come out and play. So you either settle for quiet overall gameplay with tolerable sound effects, or really get into those dusty desert winds and come out with some tinnitus based ringing by the end. For less egregious issues: Do you like digging up infinite pottery pieces that can only be addressed by quitting out of the game and restarting? Might be another form of purgatory inflicted by Tor himself. (This is an issue with the save system that has been acknowledged and will likely be addressed in a future patch. But for now, you can get a free digging simulator with the bonus of desert based ambiance) How about the fact that being a gluttonous, greedy daughter and taking the soup for yourself doesn't actually mean anything, because everything acts as if you force fed your grandfather the slop anyway? Maybe the soup really meant nothing at all, in the end. (Feeding yourself never seems to have been accounted for in game logic. It's not gonna shatter your experience, but it certainly caught my attention enough to remark on it) tl;dr Game is fine for the price and one I'd recommend, but it currently comes with some minor friction here and there that could influence feelings of the overall experience. Another good addition to the devs' repertoire of spooky games.
