About
Relive the days of past social gaming networks in VIDEOVERSE – A decision-based narrative adventure focusing on character development, friendship and love, from the developer behind One Night Stand.
As Emmett, a young video game fan and aspiring artist, dive into this fictional video game era, where the Kinmoku Shark gaming system and its online social network, Videoverse, were still popular. Strengthen Emmett’s friendships, share fan art and browse the lively gaming communities. Make decisions that will change how Emmett grows, his approach to Videoverse and, ultimately, the final outcome!
Will your actions help Videoverse thrive, or will you get caught up in teenage drama, video game fandoms and corporate conspiracies?
VIDEOVERSE is inspired by Miiverse, MSN messenger, early internet forums and 00’s technology. The chill soundscape of the Kinmoku Shark, composed by Clark Aboud (Slay the Spire, Kind Words), will uncover memories of your favourite retro gaming consoles.
Meet a huge cast of characters, unlock multiple side stories, enjoy the pixel doodles, and seek out the truth behind the troubled social gaming network! Personalise your Videoverse experience by choosing your avatar, personal quote and favourite theme.
Accompany Emmett as he plays the Kinmoku Shark’s most popular JRPG, Feudal Fantasy. Swap theories and discover tips from other FF fans in its exclusive Videoverse community…and find out whether or not Hanzo will be able to stop the evil Nobunaga!

What a wonderful game! A beautiful homage to the Miiverse online community of the Wii U and 3DS. I never owned those consoles, but I have very much nostalgia for the messengers and social networks of the 2000s. The Emily is Away games captured the feeling of 2000s Internet so well and Videoverse does too. This game made me feel nostalgic for a console I never owned. The love story (if you chose to be more than friends) between Emmett and Vivi is great. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, this game had me in tears. Games rarely make me feel such a emotional rollercoaster ride. Thank you Lucy for making such a fantastic game!
I am at a loss for words. The way that this game was able to grip me emotionally and creatively is something that I feel will be hard to replicate. Every little detail that was put into this game was amazing through and through. The dialogue and the world felt so realistic and the art was incredible as well! Easily a top 10 indie game for me
Лайтовая история, мне понравилось, немного удивлен, что так мало людей знают об этой игре
VIDEOVERSE is one of those rare games that instantly pulls you back to the early internet era (MSN Messenger and jam-packed forum), where it really nails that cozy, nostalgic vibe. The game centers on Emmett, a young gamer and aspiring artist navigating a close-knit online community filled with heartwarming chats, budding friendships, and more than a little teen drama. The characters feel surprisingly real, and the way your decisions impact the story makes each conversation matter. While the art is charming and the story is genuinely moving, it's a pretty short experience and sometimes you’re left wishing for more branching storylines or the chance to revisit specific moments. Still, for anyone who grew up with early social platforms or loves a good slice-of-life narrative, VIDEOVERSE is absolutely worth playing. 8.5/10
A retro aesthetic, the 1-bit art style is something that really tickles me. And the story of this little online community made my heart ache in some ways, it resonates with some real experiences I've had.
Comfy back to the past
I got this because I loved the art direction! Didn't expect such a wonderful story, it was very touching and real. It's easy to imagine how many kids and teens went through the same things as Emmett and his friends when many online worlds and games back in the day shut down. I loved that it shows that you can make a diffrence in people's lives by simply being kind. While you can't help everyone sometimes all someone needs is a couple of kind words and an open ear. And by being a force of kindness in other people's live you might even inspire them to be kinder too. A great game, very sweet and touching, super recommend this! BTW: I loved all the little eastereggs, memes and hints at other games, characters and gaming history! Certainly a game made by devs with a lot of love for games!
It's good.
