So far I have only played the confederates. I really enjoyed this game, perhaps even a little bit more than Victory and Glory: The Napoleonic War. Where It is better is that the tactical battles include corps commanders that influence items, not just the overall commander. I also like how you can play both sides in the game, the North or the South. But the event cards in Napoleon are a little bit 'richer' than those in Civil War. Still, I HIGHLY recommend both games to players who enjoy strategic wargames, and want a light tactical combat system.

this is a terrible game to represent the civil war. the pursuit deaths are way to much, if i have 3 units of cavalry and the opponent has none how do i lose 8 units in the pursuit phase???? cavalry are for screening in such a case. you can buy troops every 3 turns, and only so many at a time. 5 years ago you asked for feedback to make the game better you did no updated that people suggested. you people dont care.
Yes a very entertaining game
Little replayability, awful UI that plays like an early 2000s game, and no real explanation on anything. The dice rolls on some of the combat are absolutely mind-boggling.
assome game hope they keep working on it
Do not buy, Cheats badly. They didnt balance the game made questionable balance issues from the original board game and have long since abandon the product.
fun not overly complicated strategy game that touches on many aspects of the American Civil War. plays like a board game. the tactical battles were not that intuitive, so i highly recommend reading the manual.
It's very difficult to win - takes patience and careful use of resources
