Highly enjoyable Action RPG with the emphasis on Action. You do get to upgrade stuff, but you don't level your character. Found the boss monsters overwhelming after playing through areas never giving you an indication that you might be heading for a fall. Obviously the game want you to grind for much higher legendary gear to achieve these boss battles. I couldn't be bothered so just cheated through them - reloading afterwards to continue without cheats. Hated doing that but it was the better option rather than grinding. Good drops are far and between - I had a legendary weapon (tome) drop early on in the game for a weapon that out powered most of the weapons I got after. So I just kept using it for most of the game except the guitar in Motorhead expansion obviously - which is awesome. Used some of the crafting system but the drop system also made this difficult to find the right ingredients and you have to create an artefact to get your wings (passive abilities increased). Still enjoyed the game a lot and would highly recommend playing through it especially if you have someone to play with co-op.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 13: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

WHATEVER! My only two real complaints is the upgraded system seem a little to much for leveling up and the second reason is the way you have to change every dam weapon to just finish each cave or area to get the full stars to me this is confusing most it calls for a weapon and sometime not even sure what the hell they mean. called for a rapper weapon in one area and so i get it and used the weapon on side enemy yet still did not get the star, i must be missing the weapon type or it seem to be name type i don't really get it this just make me have to read every dam thing in depth to get the star not that fun to do. I am not good at games that have a lot of reading just to get something done and my friend he good at all of this and he even said the same thing about the game. WAY TO MANY THINGS TO CRAFT ONE DAM GOOD ITEM and just to dam boring to play with this kind of system confusion.
Can't say anything about the gameplay itself. Poor monitor options. Struggling to get it to play on my 2nd monitor. Spend several minutes to have the game being moved to the 2nd monitor. Monitor changes reset when Alt+Tab to do anything else on my main monitor, moving the game over to that monitor as I do so. Then again several minutes to try and get it to be moved back to the 2nd monitor. Just a waste of time for me, as I tend to check other stuff regurarly as I play.
Victor Vran is an okay, decently fun game, that tries to do a few things differently resulting in a streamlined ARPG. There are no classes or skill threes, you are Victor Vran the monster hunter and your abilities are attached to the weapons type you wield, of which there are 8 (10 with the Motorhead DLC), 2 demon powers that burn a special resource akin to adrenaline, and a set of cards that grants a few perks, but overall it's not super versatile when it comes to build variety. It's not a bad game, had my fun with it but it's clearly an indie ARPG done on a small budget. It's not something I would return for multiple runs as the lack of variety really hurts it. As I see it, Victor Vran's simplicity is better suited for beginners of the genre, particularly those who feel other games are too overwhelming to get into. The downside is that everything lacks a certain depth, don't expect the gameplay to feel fresh for hundreds of hours like other titles in the genre can.
Taking back my review. I played it on Switch and this was a fantastic game. I figured I'd buy it on PC because I sold my Switch. Mind you, I reviewed the game based on Switch thinking it would be the same game right? WRONG!!! Visuals: The game is fantastic and the enemy art and design are easy on the eyes. Graphics are fun to blow up. Sound: the audio, I'm a metal head and have been out of the womb so hearing that this game had a whole DLC from dedicated to the legendary MotorHead, I was instantly sold. It didn't disappoint in that regard either. Balance: SCREWED THE POOCH. The game is so badly balanced it's not even funny. The player is given weapons that are really good and the stats are incredible. However, the enemy mechanics will turn your badass guitar or into a useless pile of crap. I have tried every weapon. The revolver was the best imo because it soloed out the tough mobs for each takedown, but it wasn't enough. What always happens is, the game will throw mobs at you that you can't kill because they are sponges. Your weapons can't do enough damage to kill them fast enough before the next wave pops up or your health pack finishes on cooldown. So you die and have to restart. The first lvl isn't that bad. The second, Wild West is where I just uninstalled. When the player has every crit and damage ability on and top attack type weapon on and you still do no damage to the enemy and they smoke you in a few hits, your game is unbalanced. Switch version: As I was saying about the switch version earlier, it is starkly different. They actually gave a crap when I had it. The first guitar you get killed things and when you bought a gold damage weapon from the Ghost guy in the hub? It murdered things or at the minimum, did damage at a reasonable rate. Your health wasn't so atrocious that you get destroyed by adds as well. I don't know what the state of the game is on it now, but when I had it, it was incredible to play and I miss that game. This, Can't recommend. If I did, that would be recommending people to destroying their computers and I'm not a sadistic person....
really overhyped. It plays well and has an interesting take on weapons but is a poor design choice over all. The idea here is instead of having swarms of baddies to kill, this game opts for less swarms but much higher defence. Fun for a while. I am about level 40 and have been using the same weapons since level 16. Really boring. There are a dozen weapon types but instead of you having skills like Diablo or Grim Dawn, each weapon type gives you its main attack and two special attacks that have cool downs. Gets boring fast. The game has its merits like the music is pretty cool, although low quality, and have found zero bugs. Runs smooth most of the time, unless you have to tab out, then the fps tanks. 42 hours and have played through three times since ive owned it and each time I quit because of boredom and the limitations of the character builds. At 60-80 percent off? Sure, its fun for a while. It just doesn't hold a candle to most of the other Arpgs out there
Action RPGs consist of hacking'n'slashing demons, levelling up, looting and being lost in complicated skill trees. Victor Vran just skips the last one with an elegant leap: there is no skill tree, you just level up and get items consistently that provide some boost and that's it. If you are not too much into sinking into a complicated skill tree swamp, this game is for you. Different weapons provide different tactics, the rest is up to you. If you are new to the genre and the likes of Grim Dawn, Path of Exile, Torchlight 2 or Van Helsing are too overwhelming, Victor Vran is a nice gateway without being "less" of any other of them, just a little more straightforward. Like a go-kart among cars. Minimalistic but fun to drive, indeed. Considering action and combat it is rock solid, one of the bests by that regard in my opinion. Also, an ample of A-RPG chlicés including story line are sort of simplified and it works pretty fine. Despite that the game seems to run smoothly even on a potato its GFX and overall solid feel is on-par with the other big boys of the genre. Great job on optimising the game code. As a closing line: Playing action RPGs I often wonder how many Diablo fans became game developers. edit: The Motörhead DLC in this game context is a beast. I must admit that despite being a metalhead the music was never for me really, still I absolutely respect Lemmy's legacy (RIP). This is a very cool tribute.
