We are very aware of how important localization is—especially for a story-driven game like Venice After Dark.
At the moment, however, we simply don’t have the resources to support all the languages we would love to include. We hope the game will be well received so we can reinvest the revenue and gradually add more language options in the future.
If you have any ideas or know someone who could help us with translations, we would love to hear from you!

This was a very unique game and very well done. Highly recommend.
(REDACTED)
und
(REDACTED TOO)
This game looks and plays like a love letter to the point-and-click adventure game genre - no wonder since the two main creators behind it are true afficionados for that type of games. The setting in modern day Venice (with a slightly surreal touch) feels fresh, and the story pulls you in after a soft start. What I found most appealing concerning the story is that many parts (locations, characters, history, etc.) are actually grounded in real historic events and persons, which makes for a fascinating blend between fiction and factual background information. It took me a short time to adjust to the player's AI companion, which at first appeared like a sassy know-it-all, but becomes a likable character on its own quickly. The only "quirk" I am still struggling with a bit is the talking style of the main character (especially in the German version) which is sometimes not how I'd imagine someone would talk, with the slang and youth vocabulary present. But maybe I am just too old. :) What truly stands out is the voice acting. Both German and English language localisation is perfectly done with professional actors, I can't even decide if I prefer to play in English or German. The music is also very fitting. The art style is also unique. No, it's not the pixel art that you would find in the golden era of Sierra or LucasArts games, but a more abstract, cleaner design in high resolution that fits the setting quite well, especially when things get a bit weird and "over the top". For some people it might take some time to adjust to the art style, but the big advantage here is consistency: all assets have been drawn by a single artist, so they fit very well together and make for a coherent experience. I haven't finished the complete game yet, so I can't tell anything of the later game puzzles and story development, but from what I have seen so far, the puzzles are fair, creative, well-designed and for the most part interwoven with the story. There is also a multi-layered hint system making the game approachable to all kinds of players as well as nice helpers like a command to reveal all hotspots in a screen. Kudos for providing so much accessibility features! All in all, I am quite impressed with what this small team came up with. This is what can result when you dedicate years to make an enjoyable game that is both a homage to classic adventures as well as a unique experience that stands on its own. Truly recommended!
Venice after Dark is a lovingly crafted point-and-click adventure that really stands out thanks to its gripping narrative and superbly written characters. What’s particularly outstanding, however, is the soundtrack, the sound mixing and the atmosphere they create. The art design is distinctive – very understated and ‘simple’ – but captures Venice beautifully and I personally loved it. The AI theme is highly topical and is explored here in an entertaining way.
