I can´t recommend the game as a person who has a disibility on his right hand. On the first boss level the game forces me to throw grenades with the right hand which is not possible for the reason i mentioned. There was also no option to switch to the other hand and no option to skip this ridiculous section. Now this level is preventing me to keep playing further levels which is really disapointing. I just wanted to warn other persons like me so they don´t waste their money like i did for this game.

I do recommend this game. It is a great VR platformer. My only complaints were that while the characters and other animations that are close up look really nice, some of the far backgrounds look a bit low res and even kind of ugly. Also, it seemed that some levels were still not out when I played. Overall though a really solid game and fun to play
COPIA MALA de los grandes del género es aburrido , monótono , desfasado , nada destacable de este juego. NO RECOMENDADA su compra mejor guarda el dinero para un buen juego. REEMBOLSO
Best VR platformer
It's a nice game but it is not perfect. It's a platform game, and there is more than a passing resemblance to Crash Bandicoot, in both look a play style. Unfortunately this game does not come off that well in that comparison. It is also in many respects similar to Moss, but not quite as pretty, nor is the story as well structured. It is nice to look at, the character is pretty responsive and the levels are reasonably well made. I completed the game and for the first 4 levels I was pretty happy with how it was playing and even following the very flimsy plot. As I got further I started to realise what it was about the game that was bugging me, and much of that was because I was comparing it to Crash Bandicoot. The first thing is, I hope you don't mind heights. You will die from falling lots, lots and lots. No really I mean so much you'd think these people would have evolved wings! What's wrong with ground? Crash was mostly running down a tunnel of trees, it wasn't until the much later levels could you fall to your death. It would help significantly if Ven could grab the edge and climb up. It's not easy guiding a character in a 3D world a little more forgiveness on the landings would help. My path is linear. I know the levels are linear, fine. However in Crash there was the level selection chamber, so if I got stuck or bored I could just try another of the open levels. Maybe this is just a side effect of there not being enough levels (common VR game problem). I think it would have been better to split each level into about 3, but then let you start any of them. The plot is flimsy. In Crash the plot was equally flimsy but it was childish comedy, it worked with it's cartoon aesthetic. This tries to take itself far too seriously, but then you never really hear anything from the bad guy or anyone else, it's just your ethereal computer narrator. I still don't understand why we were doing the gymnastics through these levels when the ship picks us up at the end? And the ship can grant us powers but only at appropriate moments, why? It would make sense if Ven had to hold something to power the ship but it's very clearly just "part of the level". Those energy balls would be really handy against the many enemies. The levels are too hard and become frustrating rather than fun. In Crash you could almost always get through a level without too much bother. What brought you back to it was the bonuses you got for 100% completion, or searching for the extra special crystals, but because you had other levels to play you could just move on for now. What's the point in the lives? A shield so you can take 1 hit would be better. Also the reset is too long, the moment you hit the floor you should be able to go, but there's an extra second where Ven stand's up, very annoying when you are repeatedly falling off the same bit of bridge, The baddies are annoying more often than not, and kill you too easily. Ven's super power is too hard to set off and not effective enough, it should definitely be able to kill those frogs. I missed Crash's slide attack. Ven looks like a VR Crash remake, so you want to run headlong down a level and smash and bash stuff along the way, which you can sort of do in level 1. What you are actually playing is a set of increasingly difficult parkour levels, which will frustrate you! Did I mention you will fall to your death a lot? I don't want to sound completely negative, I would recommend this game. The first world is really well done, very pretty. The challenge of spotting and then reaching the children is nice. I really liked the dark section with light up platforms. I'm glad I got to the end, but I can't see myself dealing with the level of frustration that would be required to 100% the game. I saved most of the children, I'm sure the rest can find their own way back now the bad guy has been defeated!
Классная аркада!
Hey everyone! Here's the script for my video review. Feel free for continue reading, or check out the video! https://youtu.be/vWwmV1gDZFA The Good Stuff Ven VR Adventure is basically Crash Bandicoot in VR. It's a VR platformer which brings you through 12 levels, split between 3 different worlds. Each world has different enemies and environments to explore, and can be accessed in your newly acquired ship. Which... oddly sounds like it's landing on hard ground when clearly, it's hovering in space. So what do you do in Ven VR Adventure?... Well, Ven is set to save his planet from invaders - yep, aliens - Bruce Nelson is the antagonist, and he wants the magic which Ven's world posesses... As Bruce Nelson terrorizes Ven's planet, you are jumping and slashing through enemies with Ven in each level you complete to save the world and rescue Ven's companions... which usually are just hanging out as if their planet hasn't just been invaded by aliens... (37:43) I first found this odd, but the game actually tells you that Ven's people find weapons useless because they live in such harmony, which means they must be ignorant of war, and don't understand such conflict. Their ignorance is kind of sad, because one day I wish humans had this same level of ignorance when it comes to war, because that would mean we are living at peace. Was that too deep? With the controls, you use the Left thumbstick to move, right thumbstick to turn camera angles... there's a button for jump, and a button for slashing with your weapon. You can double jump by pressing the jump button twice, and you can perform a combo attack to smash the ground by jumping and then holding the attack button while in the air. There are various enemy types which all have different ways of attacking you which keeps things interesting. When starting the game, you have the choice between 3 difficulty settings, which can be adjusted in the middle of your playthrough, so don't be worried about choosing the wrong one. The jump puzzles (put "puzzles" in quotes in video edit) are pretty basic, with a few challenging sections. Throughout each level there are runes you collect, similar to something like the rings in Sonic, and you have to find and rescue Ven's companions along the way. To progress to further worlds, you must collect enough companions to proceed, so keep an eye out for them. In Ven VR Adventure, I absolutely loved each environment, and found every level had its own unique touch to make it feel fresh and new. This made playing through levels a breeze, and kept me interested to see what surprises the next level holds. There was great use of VR with interesting perspectives, and they definitely had fun with scenes which introduce you to bosses. There's plenty of replay value if you enjoy speed-runs, and even if you don't, you can go back through each level to 100% the game, which will give you quite a few more hours of gameplay. The soundtrack and sound effects are done very well, with some minor issues. In the beginning when you're introduced to Ven, he gives you a fist bump which is fun an interactive, but they failed to add any sound* or haptic feedback in the controllers when the fist bump is complete. This has the entire interaction feeling empty. Moss is a great example of how an interaction like this should have been done, and this demonstrates how something so little as an audio queue when you do something is incredibly important, and this brings me to the bad stuff... The Bad Stuff So, the voiceover work for the antagonist (Bruce Nelson) is pretty cheesy... I mean, his name is Bruce Nelson so I guess you can't expect much... but it's always a disappointment when there's either bad voice acting or poor sound design, and I think I made a good demonstration as to why audio is so important. There are some instances where the audio is exaggerated and doesn't make sense, and some areas where sound just doesn't exist. The soundtrack is great though, I just found inconsistencies with sound effects. The Smooth Turn option didn't work for me when playing on my Index, and I was only able to use snap turning. There is smooth locomotion movement in this game as you follow Ven throughout the stage, and this is all automatic and out of your control, so if you're prone to motion sickness then this may affect you. Speaking of movement, you're set on a one-way path with Ven, and if you miss something or want to go back in a level, then you'll have to restart the entire level. Once you move forward, there is no going back. This can cause issues if you missed a pickup item. Fortunately, most items are in plain sight or not too difficult to find within each level. Lastly, Ven VR Adventure often has you looking straight down, and with a nearly 2 pound (1.78 lbs Valve Index) weight on the front of your head (1.1 lbs Quest 2), this causes neck pain, and this is incredibly poor camera positioning by the devs.. (they are fixing this issue in a future update..) Your neck is only made to handle the weight of your head, and when using VR it's most comfortable to keep a neutral head position, but Ven VR does the opposite, and forces you to tilt your head down, and the added weight of the VR headset really puts a lot of stress on your neck. If they just placed the camera in better positions so you're next to Ven instead of literally looking straight down at your crotch, then this wouldn't be an issue. Unfortunately, quite often you're left having to look directly down, which leads to neck fatigue that gets painful if you have longer sessions. This is a major oversight in their development, and it's incredibly disappointing because this has prevented me from continuing to play because my neck started to hurt. VR already struggles to keep people playing for longer sessions, and unfortunately, Ven VR Adventure doesn't make it any easier. VR is still very new to developers, and we are all learning what works, and what does not. Hopefully VR standards improve over time, because right now there are very few VR games that do things right. So, is it worth it? Ven VR has great potential if they fixed some of the issues such as poor camera movement, awkward camera angles that have you looking straight down that ends up hurting your neck, and some sound design flaws, including poor voice acting lines by the main antagonist... However, it's an incredibly beautiful world with a great soundtrack, and the art team did an amazing job. Unfortunately there are some major issues with the camera design which actually gave me neck pain. If this is an issue for you - like it was for me - , then buy Moss instead!, it's a very well polished game with incredible voice acting and an amazing story experience. I already played Moss, so make sure to check out my review! If you enjoy jump puzzle platformers, then I think you will enjoy Ven VR Adventure. Just know that you will probably end up with neck pain due to poor camera design if you play for longer sessions… This is all just my opinion though, and I am curious if you think Ven VR Adventure is worth it. Let me know in the comments down below!
you like moss? buy it, real fun game, not hard and easy to start. controls on reverb G2 work like a charm. wonderfull animations.
Игра похожа на Mario 64 и первую часть Bandicoot. Необычные положения камеры усложняют управление героем, но разнообразят геймплей. Визуально очень красиво, низкие требования к железу.
