When you make a platforming fps you dont do 3 things: - limit the fps - lock the fov - leave the basic unity engine mousefilter on
I stepped into Vectromirror expecting an experience similar to Vectromirror 0, and was pleasantly surprised. Where Zero had more focus put on speed, wall running, and long distance jumps, Vectromirror proper has dialed in on high-precision platform jumping with little-to-no room for error. The controls have been tightened significantly since Zero, I was fully confident, with every mistake I made, that I was the one making the mistakes, not the controls. It is a grueling and unforgiving game, but the feeling of accomplishment when you finally make it to that next checkpoint is worth all the stress. The graphics have also been improved upon. Gone are the colorful laser grids, replaced with very clean landscapes, broken down fishing villages, sunken ships, and a horrible, horrible lighthouse. If you give it a try, take my advice and don't give up! If I can clear the levels, then so can you!
An incredible game. I've never played a game with better physics or game mechanics. The graphics are very unusual but unique. I can't think of any flaws.
This game is sensational, really challenging and fun! I was looking forward to the release and I can say that this game exceeded all my expectations!
Well, it's time to write something about the game. Pos: - really nice graphics for an Indie game - nice price level - interesting puzzles Other than that the game is like new :) . So, definitely recommend. P.S. i didn;t encounter any issues like at all and was able to progress pretty fast and furios. So far - a good relaxinf experience for me!
Vectromirror is not only fun but very challenging and rewarding I found it didnt hold my hand with in-game hints so it reminds me of games from the 80s and early 90s. The puzzle elements are great also and Im a big fan of the Tron like artstyle with a mix PBR material elements.
it can be pretty iffy with what it expects you to do sometimes but its a good game

EDIT: Another run-through after 2 patch updates and nothing has really changed. I was able to speedrun the first 2 missions with relative ease, however I'm puzzled with the inclusion of a speedrun timer when there are many points in the game where it will pause/stop you to tell you a bunch of story. The wall-running is still very unreliable and is apparent in the third level with the vertical wall you need to wall-run up to progress. Toggle Run should be off by default as it makes wall-running ever more unreliable. Holding shift to sprint helped with the gameplay but the momentum in the game is very floaty still especially with very tight jumps that are required in the third level it just doesn't make sense and just leads to more frustration. Parkour games like Mirror's Edge work -because- it has very tight controls and your character doesn't feel like its on ice. If more levels were released than maybe the issues are fixed? But I will not know until then. Its also a -very- short game for a $10 price tag at least here in Canadian, I beat the whole thing in less than an hour. Overall aka TL:DR. The game isn't bad by any means, nor is it a cash-grab as there is some actual care being put into it but the game mechanics aren't overly fun at the current state to warrant anything to praise about as I felt myself frustrated more than I was having fun with the game. When more updates come out for the game I'll replay it yet again as I do still believe there is a lot of potential here and hope that it helps fix some of the issues.
It's evolving, just backwards. I'd rather buy Vectromirror 0, which is free but could buy only Vectromirror. What this game lacks (and I have no idea why comparing it with Vectromiror): [olist] [*]Perfomance. At first, I thought my PC might be not as good but turns out Vectromirror 0 runs smooth as butter, why here I rarely get 60 FPS. [*]Pace in levels. Here you are a turtle with double jump ability. At each level you are stopped by either one of these: - Some stairs, where for each step you need to do a double jump. And they go vertically, and not always dj guarantees that you will get on another step - Some slow-ass platform, or a platform that will suddenly disappear, or some platform that goes at light speed, and you didn't expect that. - You need to pull some lever, or place a box on some point, and wait until the obstacle ahead disappears. [*]Controls. Here you are a turtle, which will change its direction veeery veeery slowly. Precision jumping is frustrating, trust me. And in some levels, you need it to progress (hello to pacing at levels!). [*]Wall running/jumping. It's a 50/50 system, sometime you run and jump and can run again on a wall, sometimes you don't. + In most cases you won't clearly see where the wall ends and you have to jump. [*]Audio feedback. [strike]You run but hear no steps. You land, but there's no audio indication that you've touched the ground.[/strike] BUT there are 2 voices that will talk to you, without any subtitles + those are unskippable. So, wherever you like it or not, sit tight and listen to some jibberish for ~2 minutes before accessing the next levels. [*]Respawning. You're almost at the top of some tower or at the end of some tricky path and you fall? Welp, wait ~10 secs before you land to the absolute ground 0, cause that's how it's done. Yea, I see I missed something, let me retry - fast. Instead, you have to watch as you fall and wait... to fail once again... And question yourself if you even want to continue this torture. Idea: add a time for time spent while falling before respawn. Wonder how much playtime I spent on that :D [*]Lore. In Vectromirror 0 you get some text notes on levels, which sometimes act as "hints". And I love it. Though, standing and reading are not much fun. And some small comic at the end. Here, no lore, you get a clue of what's going on and who you are, but... meh. [*]Levels. In Vectromirror devs put a player in very small and tight spaces. There is no room for you to wonder where you should go or where you would appreciate the "neon" look type of levels. Everything is put right in front of your face and it hurts your eyes. [/olist] Generally speaking, I launched the game 2 times to complete it, and my experience was frustrating. Devs fixed blue level with one update, after which I actually finished the game, thanks. Vectromirror 0 - absolutely worth this money. All of the aspects I mentioned here are much better. But it's free. So, I suggest to try Vectromirror, experience it, and then download Vectromirror 0 and see how it should have been done. EDIT: game name is Vectromirror. I guess it's a good spin on existing word, but good luck searching it on Steam. VEEEECTRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FOOORRREEEVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRR!!!!!! EDIT (07/11/20): + Audio feedback was updated. Now you can hear when you "walk" and when you "run". Neat.
