its fun. would be more fun if the upgrades what you get would last but well its part of the game that they dont i guess. there was a major bug, what triggers when you go to next stage and it teleports you randomly somewhere high or inside wall and then you have to start all over cause of it.
Caught this game thanks to Zlimbratski's Indie summer fest. (It's on Youtube and well worth checking out) The trailer really had me hooked. Looks and sounds quite trippy. Pros +The soundtrack is sublime and some of the most chill FPS action you'll encounter on Steam +Minor meta grind you can progress on most runs +Excellent randomness each playthrough +Use bombs to dispatch both enemies AND traps +Sentry bots are OP and can wipe out large roomfuls of enemies +Fun powerups to collect each run to add to randomness +Keep an eye out for friendly bot machines, minigames and presents to really help you out Cons -Could really do with a mid-game save option. -Game rewards speed running, but that's not my stlye tbh. Took me an hour to get to the 6th maze, so yeah saving would be ideal -Cannot figure out how to rebind keyboard controls. Despite not using a controller, all prompts and powerups are only catered towards controller, so you have to figure out the keybinds yourself -Could do with different themes between the mazes. They all look quite similar to me, just with newer, tougher enemies and traps between the stages. Enjoying my time so far and am eager to see what's at the end
Love the look of the game, and the items are fun to use. If I were to change some things, I would definitely slow the movement a bit and find a way to make jumping easier to control. It makes the platforming segments a complete nightmare to play. Oh yeah, one more thing. Another good quality of life suggestion: Not sure if this would work, but maybe add a reduced clutter setting for weaker PCs? I'm on a $300 laptop so I get 20 fps lol. I can manage with that but it would be handy
You rarely get to play vaporwave-themed games, let alone vaporwave-themed roguelites. Apart from this incredibly ingenious concept , this game actually follows the phylosophy of vaporwave and criticizes consumerism : You enter mazes in which the fake pleasure of consumerism reigns, your goal is to reach the end of the last maze to set yourself free from this vicious circle. The game itself is chaotic, i mean REALLY chaotic. It's not incredibly hard but on the other hand a few mistakes and bad items management are all it might take to kill your run. my successful runs lasted around 40 minutes, 40 minutes in which you mustn't let your guard down although you can purchase permanent upgrades ,those will be helpful to increase your chances of having a successful run. Surely an unique game with an unique concept, if you're into roguelites , give it a shot
Do you love the OG FPS roguelite HEAVY BULLETS? Do you love the dulcet tones of WINDOWS96? I do! So I had to pick it up! TLDR is that I recommend it if you like the aesthetic, and are ok with a work in progress. Otherwise you might find this frustrating. There are definitely bugs and control issues. But there is also an undeniable quality and craft present as well. I think the good out weights the bad, and the bad will probably get fixed -STRAY THOUGHTS (can't really say PROS or CONS just yet) -The soundtrack is stellar, WINDOWS96 is best of the best. 11/10 -Looks really nice -The physics based movement is interesting, but it needs some tuning IMO. Jumping is really hard to control, making platforming a real pain. Jumping is Easily the biggest con for me right now -The punch gun is a great example of the physics working well, its a fun weapon when you get used to it. -Bugs... yeah some bugs. I got stuck in the tube/elevator after I bought a bunch of stuff at the start of a run... had another tube at the end of a level blocked by some procgen smaller tubes in the way... But overall I definitely give this a thumbs up, its super cool, just needs bit of work. look forward to playing some more and seeing how it progresses
somehow of all roguelites i own i keep returning to this one the visual and audio aesthetic is on point the game can seem frustrating at first because of floaty movement and visual clutter that makes it hard to see the enemies, but once you get used to it it becomes a very very fun game, throwing enemies around with the spring gun is peak if you are a vaporwave and ziggurat/heavy bullets enjoyer its definitely a must buy
I almost A E S T H E T I C A L L Y broke my keyboard because of the mad jumps. Nevertheless, the game looks and sounds wonderful, especially if you are into these aesthetics/cores.
Consegui chegar no máximo no lv 5.
Game is good, needs some improvements. It is kind of difficult to play at first, but it gets easier to learn the more you play. Gameplay is satisfactory. Graphics & style looks great. I got lost a few times in this game. I enjoyed shooting robots, jumping over spikes, and pushing a robot near that one machine to get some goodies.
just dont do it
