Vanquish is a super stylish, fast paced, over the top, 3rd person, cover-based shooter from Platinum Games at their peak. For a game released in 2010 (16 years old at the time of this review) it still holds up in both gameplay and graphics. While I would've liked more in the way of story and environment variety, it made up for it with some really cool level design during some zero-G sections. Overall I had a blast and it's definitely worth playing even today. It's normally priced at $20 USD, and I'd say it's fair value at that price, but if you ever see it go on sale, be sure to snatch it up.

An incredible blend of cover shooter pastiche, premium arcade action and stylish B-movie excess that becomes less than the sum of its parts more often than you'd like it to be. At least challenge mode is there to thoroughly stomp you into dust.
