About
You are the Nomad — an elder vampire awakening from a century-long slumber, new to the modern nights. Trapped in your Blood is a stranger’s voice. This entity, a vampire detective known as Fabien, will be your guide to 21st-century Seattle. You will explore the city through his eyes as well as those of the Nomad, as you revisit a cold case from a hundred years ago that is threatening undead and mortal society alike.
Hunt your way through a modern-night Seattle on the brink of an open supernatural war in Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, where visceral vampire action meets a neo-noir murder mystery. Navigate the vampire Court of Seattle and its dark underbelly in this action RPG, realized by the BAFTA award-winning studio The Chinese Room.

Blood sustains you and empowers your vampiric Disciplines. You’ll stalk and feed on the city’s population at night. Use your supernatural powers or raw persuasion on unsuspecting mortals to lure them into dark alleys and slake your Hunger. However, be cautious about breaking the Masquerade: revealing your true nature risks reprisals, starting with law enforcement and escalating from there. Remember, you are not the only creature that goes bump in the night.
Experience immersive, visceral combat that rewards various playstyles and approaches based on your choice of vampire clan. Will you engage in close combat with supernatural strength, attack from a distance with blood sorcery, or silently thin the herd like the apex predator you are? Your clan choice will support these playstyles and more.

Enter the World of Darkness and rise through vampire society or rail against it. Experience Seattle - a city full of alluring, dangerous characters and factions, not to mention the mortals at stake in the clash of powers beyond their knowing. In this sequel to the cult classic, your choices, plots, and schemes will determine the balance of power and what becomes of the city and its people.

Love the universe, the game would be fine if it wasn't so unstable. Frequent CTDs during fights
Game has a lot of promise and some very fun combat and interesting characters. Unfortunately it is also still pretty buggy 8 months after release. Encountered a game-ending bug relating to a mission which can't progress. There doesn't seem to be any kind of bug reporting tool/forum so I'm going to uninstall and wait another year. If they've fixed it when I get back I will change it to a positive review.
go into this game knowing its not bloodlines 1 and you'll be fine. i played through once and found the story pretty good . its not perfect but ya its worth a play if you're a WOD fan
First of all am enjoying the story so win there however I keep having to reply loads of content because whenever I die or hit a load my current save when I get back on the game it loads me without the ability to fight or even jump. This has now happened 3 times. The fix is to load a previous save, which on its own is not so bad but its the fact its not always the last save it might be the one before that to fix the glitch or even before that. Thats the biggest issue. The other issue is the gameplay itself. Its pretty boring. The story is the only thing keeping me going. Honestly unless you a die hard fan of the world of darkness stuff maybe skip this one.
Geht schon, für 30€
not a great rpg, but an excellent vampire game.
I tried to give this game a chance, but I was disappointed by how small the world actually is. Not only that but the DLC isn't even focused around the main story. They have you play other characters. The other major negative is unfortunately the main character having another voice in his head who I find to be very annoying in writing and in voice. The little bit of combat I experienced was kinda cool and I think that might be the only highlight overall especially when you start mixing abilities from different clans. The only way I see myself getting this game again is through Humble Bundle.
Now… Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is technically a sequel to Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines from 2004, the last game by Troika Games, the first commercially released Source Engine title, a cult classic, a mess and one of my personal favorite games. And when I write on games with such lineage, I tend to start with some history, some context. Bloodlines 2 is also a title that went through development hell – another topic that I like to explore a bit, before going into the final product. But in this case it would be a waste of everyone’s time. Because V:tM – Bloodlines 2 is a waste of everyone’s time. This is an action adventure game with some light RPG mechanics and narrative roleplaying. It’s a cross between Ghostwire: Tokyo and a Telltale-style adventure game. So, there is no equipment or inventory, the skill system is handled more like a collection of special attacks, the starting “character creation” is just character selection and the starting clan does not affect that much. There is some potential for stealth, but not much and most of the time the doors to the next section of a map are locked until all nearby enemies are dead. And when the game attempts to do full stealth, it fails so unbelievably I had to pause the game and have a moment to recover. The way you play the game at the start is, more or less, the same you will be playing it by the end or in the terrible DLCs, where you’re supposed to be playing different characters. The first impressions with the title were, in general, just terrible. For a title that is supposed to be as big as it is marketed as, the UI experience is horrendous, the controls are garbage, the choice of one auto-save and no proper manual saves puzzling (though, it is a bit more robust than what you might think at first). The game looks both great and horrible depending on what you’re looking at. The performance ranges from perfectly fine, to unstable and almost all sections where they try to seamlessly transition between interiors and exteriors do not run smoothly. At least the developers realized that they’re not good at it, so many of the bigger quest-related locations have a loading screen instead of trying to seamlessly transition. The music, that is quite enjoyable on its own when it plays, is mixed terribly… I was seriously considering refunding the game at first. But some of the more positive opinions on the game mention the writing and the story. And at that point the game was focusing on the initial intrigue and better characters, so I gave it a chance to win me over and for a time it was working. The main dynamic of the playable character and the noir detective in their head is great. Some of the key characters are fun and enjoyable, whenever you like them or like to hate them. The several big mysteries the game establishes are curious enough. Then the gameplay starts clicking in and, at its best, it is quite fun. The movement abilities, as long as you’re smart not to use them in front of humans, are solid and allow you to explore the relatively small area of Seattle in a fun and quick way. And in combat, as you use different abilities on enemies, use telekinesis to grab weapons or enemies from afar and do cool dodges and slides all around, it can become really exciting. Heck, even the sections where you get to see the past and play detective, despite their severe limitations in terms of movement, are interesting. But then the honeymoon is over, and the game starts dragging on. And you start noticing how flat and pointless most characters are. How painfully slow the plot moves and how most of it is not very interesting. How formulaic and predictable in their structure most quests are. And then the game goes into a completely uninteresting finale and ends on a wet fart, with utterly bizarre choices made. So when I went into the DLCs, I expected they would have anything that excuses their existence, but no – nothing. Both DLCs are about sub two hour long explorations of unlikeable characters and events that you already know everything you need to know about from the main game. Given that these are set from a different perspective and during the events of the main game, you’d think they would have some unique hooks of their own or try to explore some of the less explained elements of the main game. But no, you either see things that you already know about and do the same levels from the main game, just with a slightly tweaked context. Or they tell more backstory on the characters that you probably won’t like in the least, so who cares. At least both can be completed in under two hours each. At the end of the day, I long has stopped expecting a proper sequel to the original Bloodlines. I didn’t even expect Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 to be a good World of Darkness game. And I was still disappointed, because it’s not good as a game in general. And few cool ideas and cool music tracks used in this game are completely wasted on such a terribly misguided project.
This isn't a Vampire: The Masquerade game. It feels like a bargain-bin combat simulator wearing Bloodlines' skin like a Party City Halloween costume. Thank God I waited for a sale. If I'd paid full price, I'd be furious. Honestly, I've gotten more lasting enjoyment from my shmead-dealer than I got from this game. What makes this especially disappointing is that I actually love the World of Darkness setting. I run my own VTM campaign with friends, and it's a universe packed with depth, atmosphere, politics, and memorable characters. This game captures almost none of that. It feels hollow. Where's the story? Where's the roleplaying? Where are the meaningful choices? Most of the game seems to consist of running back and forth through the same tiny areas doing repetitive fetch quests. If 90% of your gameplay loop is busywork in a handful of recycled spaces, I don't think you should be charging anywhere near full price. I hate leaving negative reviews, but this isn't what was marketed. It feels like a cynical cash grab trading on the Bloodlines name. Even if you're not a VTM fan and you're just looking for a vampire game, I still can't recommend it. The vampire fantasy barely exists beyond the surface aesthetics. The lack of variety is shocking. Animations repeat constantly, environments feel lifeless, and everything starts blending together after a few hours. Somehow the original Bloodlines, a game that's over twenty years old and notoriously janky still has more personality, atmosphere, and soul than this. People understand why Baldur's Gate 3 succeeded: people who like D&D wanted a game that actually feels like D&D. Likewise, people buying a Vampire: The Masquerade game probably expect to, you know, play Vampire: The Masquerade. Instead, this feels like a completely different game wearing the franchise's skin. The whole thing comes across as a severe misuse of a beloved IP. I'm honestly more sad than angry. Bloodlines deserved better than this. Atmospheric lighting, fog, and a few city blocks don't create immersion by themselves. Strip away the presentation and there's very little underneath. One of the most disappointing games I've played in years. Would not recommend.
