Charming platformer with a lot to do and a lot of mechanics to work out.

Uurnog Uurnlimited is an imaginative and delightfully unconventional puzzle-platformer developed by Nifflas Games and published by Raw Fury. Rather than following the familiar formula of rescuing kingdoms or battling world-ending threats, the game embraces a much stranger premise. Players are dropped into a surreal universe where the primary objective is to gather and rescue adorable creatures while navigating a world filled with odd machinery, peculiar characters, and environmental puzzles. This unusual concept immediately gives the game a distinct identity and sets the tone for an experience driven by curiosity, experimentation, and playful creativity. The game's greatest strength lies in its sandbox-inspired approach to puzzle solving. Nearly every object encountered throughout the adventure can be interacted with in some meaningful way. Players can carry items, throw them, stack them, transport them between areas, or use them to manipulate the environment. This flexibility allows puzzles to feel organic rather than scripted. Instead of presenting a single obvious solution, many situations encourage experimentation, rewarding players who think outside the box. The result is a constant sense of discovery as seemingly insignificant objects often become the key to overcoming future obstacles. A unique feature that significantly shapes progression is the Save Room system. This personal storage area functions as both a safe haven and a strategic resource hub. Animals rescued during exploration can be stored there, alongside useful tools and items collected from across the world. Because objects persist within this space, players are encouraged to carefully manage resources and plan ahead. This mechanic adds a surprising level of depth, transforming exploration into a meaningful cycle of gathering, transporting, and preserving valuable discoveries. It also reinforces the game's central theme of collection and conservation in a way that feels integrated into the gameplay rather than tacked on. Exploration plays an equally important role in the experience. The world is interconnected through numerous rooms and pathways, many of which conceal hidden secrets, alternate routes, and optional challenges. The game rarely rushes players from one objective to the next. Instead, it invites them to wander, investigate, and experiment with their surroundings. This design philosophy creates a rewarding sense of adventure, particularly for players who enjoy uncovering secrets and learning the rules of a world through direct interaction rather than lengthy tutorials. Visually, Uurnog Uurnlimited embraces a colorful and whimsical art style that perfectly complements its eccentric personality. The environments are filled with strange architecture, unusual creatures, and imaginative designs that make every area feel unique. Although the graphics are relatively simple compared to larger productions, they possess a handcrafted charm that gives the world a memorable identity. The playful animations and vibrant presentation contribute significantly to the game's lighthearted atmosphere, making exploration consistently engaging. One of the most remarkable aspects of the game is its dynamic music system. Rather than relying on a static soundtrack, the music evolves alongside the player's actions. Melodies shift, rhythms change, and the overall composition adapts to what is happening on screen. This creates an immersive audio experience that feels alive and responsive. The soundtrack becomes more than background noise; it actively contributes to the mood of exploration and discovery. The innovative implementation of adaptive music remains one of the game's most distinctive achievements. The inclusion of local cooperative play adds another enjoyable dimension. Working alongside a second player introduces both teamwork and chaos, as partners collaborate to solve puzzles, transport objects, and rescue creatures. The game's physics-based interactions often lead to humorous situations, making cooperative sessions particularly entertaining. Rather than simply duplicating the single-player experience, the cooperative mode enhances the game's strengths by encouraging communication and creative problem-solving between players. Despite its many strengths, Uurnog Uurnlimited is not without flaws. Its commitment to open-ended design can occasionally make progression feel unclear. Some puzzles rely heavily on experimentation, and certain objectives may leave players uncertain about the intended path forward. Those who prefer highly structured gameplay and explicit instructions may find portions of the adventure frustrating. However, players who enjoy figuring things out independently will likely view this ambiguity as part of the game's appeal. The game also features boss encounters, hidden content, and multiple endings, providing additional reasons to thoroughly explore its world. These elements reward dedication and curiosity while extending the overall lifespan of the adventure. The sense of mystery remains strong throughout the experience, ensuring that players continue discovering new surprises long after they believe they have seen everything the game has to offer. Ultimately, Uurnog Uurnlimited succeeds because it fully embraces its own eccentric vision. It combines exploration, platforming, puzzle solving, item management, and dynamic audio into a package that feels genuinely original. While its unconventional design choices may not appeal to every player, those willing to immerse themselves in its strange and imaginative world will find a memorable experience unlike most platformers on the market. Its creativity, charm, and emphasis on experimentation make it a standout indie title that rewards patience and curiosity. Rating: 7/10
A very cute and well though-out platformer, that we really enjoyed with my son. Puzzles, secrets, things to collect - everything the game needs, and everything in a small neat package. Good game.

this game was good. made me feel whole again.
超级好玩!特别有趣,发挥小脑袋就有各种方式各种路线!
Игра классная, но максимально неудобная без нормальных чекпоинтов
Nifflas is such a talented game designer (and composer). Uurnog's mechanics are basic, in that each block has one function associated with it, which makes them easy to learn. the graphics are simple but consistent, so this library of blocks can be visually internalized. the world's space is large and open ended, but funnels you effectively into increasingly complex and wacky interactions that show you what you can really do with this menagerie while recursively unlocking itself once you succeed. there's an absolutely chaotic energy to the emergent gameplay, something like baba is you by way of streets of rogue? but it's so fun to ♥♥♥♥ around and accidentally nuke yourself in your safe room because your dog knocked over a stack of blocks which shot an activating signal into a bomb into another bomb etc. and the soundtrack is dynamic! really a wonderful experience.
Wow, This is a good game! Definitely devastating when you lose everything in the save room (It WILL happen) but aside from that it's a really pleasant sandbox experience.
