This is pretty unfun as hidden object games go. The hint system is annoying, even a blatantly obvious global 'hint' is already taking a hint point so you have to wait again for the more precise hints you wanted to get. [i]"Yes, I know I need to collect the 5 glyphs... Just give me information to find one of those glyphs in the first place. What? Just because I clicked 'You have to find the 5 glyphs' I again have to wait before I can click on 'Glyph 1' for the actual information I wanted?"[/i]
The story had potential to be somewhat interesting, but the execution is done poorly. So poorly that I'm simply not interested anymore in the story, because it just makes no sense to be here and there and everywhere. I know hidden object games usually make no full sense, but this is pretty bad. Although when it involves aliens and our ancient cultures, it's already too far-fetched for me anyway.
Technically the game's also doing badly. I'm running Windows 10 and played all kinds of HOGs before without issue. This one, however, had to be played in windowed mode which in itself is not ideal for a HOG. When trying to play fullscreen, it's stretched out weirdly and beyond the boundaries of my monitor and even the 'widescreen' option in the menu didn't solve it.
The game mechanics are annoying and it's more of a hunt and peck game than a real hidden object game. Going from one room/scene to another isn't streamlined nicely, the hitboxes for those are placed in annoying spots. Stuff can be found in very illogical places and are just obscured enough from view that you'd basically have to hover everywhere with your mouse to see if it turns into a hand icon, not exactly my idea of fun.
I'm simply not going to finish this, there are better hidden object games out there that's not going to frustrate me while playing. I guess the 'unsolved mystery club' is going to stay an unsolved mystery for me.
