Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 26 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
I was wondering why this game had so many negative reviews. Yes... there are a few bugs here and there, okay, the currency and death system maybe could be better, but to me those issues ranged from unnoticed to minor inconveniences. I guess the "weird" design choices listed in other reviews might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I didn't find them as annoying as to leave a negative review. Cute graphics, controls felt good, there are several difficulty options and the standard difficulty felt reasonable and fun. I've had a good time with Jack Axe. That was until I've encountered a gamebreaking bug in the last world of the game which left my save file useless, and the only suggestion I've found is to start over. So that's my reason to leave a negative review. Could have been a great game, but as filled by unaddressed bugs as it is, I can't recommend it.
As far as retro style platformers go, Jack Axe is one that is very easy to miss. Let me be clear, THIS CAN BE A REALLY FUN GAME. The finding of Runes and little secrets is really promoted, and the sense of exploration, along with the fun jumping mechanics of the game really boost the enjoyment and what platformers should really be about. Tie in the forgiving checkpoints and fast travels, the game becomes a very approachable, yet difficult little gem. Boss battles are very fun and varied, yet also rely heavily on memorization and registering of events, almost impossible to beat one on a first try. Generally a very good time. However... The game has many issues that stem from a lack of actual measuring or insufficient playtesting. Many times platforming sections, which you can tell are designed to be quick and buttery, will have odd hiccups, or points that feel somewhat disjointed, like the jump lengths or the way it should be played is counterintuitive to the mechanics of the game. A slight lack of polish. It also seems like when you get deeper into the game the developer was running out of time, or they were rushing to end the game. Everything feels rushed or very abrupt later on, and some extras or secrets seem to lack any actual reward. (There is a hidden underwater cave in World 4 with no discernable reason for its existence, the locked door on world 5, etc.) For a budget title, this is totally worth it. Have fun, godspeed.

Excelente!
Get it on sale. It's a cute little indie game with decent mechanics that doesn't overstay its welcome. That is... it's short. Very short. But I don't regret playing it. Some cons: The difficulty is a bit all over the place. And the very end gets a little tedious. Oh yeah, and the swimming is rather frustrating. I don't know who decided that's how swimming should work in this game, but they were wrong if they thought it would be more fun than something more akin to a 2D Mario style. But all in all, you'll have some fun and be done with it before you know it.
Jack Axe looks cute, but it is by no means easy. It is, however, hard for all the wrong reasons. The controls aren't that great, you die in a single hit, there aren't enough checkpoints to make up for dying so quickly and the story is... just there I guess. I don't even really remember it, as I have played this some time ago. I think I did play through it fully, but had a feeling of relief once it was over. I did have my fun with it, as I do enjoy hard games, but I do not enjoy frustrating games. If it is just making you repeat a lot of stuff everytime you die, it isn't fun. Especially if it feels like that you died because of the controls. I don't know if it had any updates regarding that since I played, so I could be wrong about some things, but from what I remember, the negative feelings outweighted my positive ones. I really enjoyed the pixel artstyle though. Its nice to look at!
i like what i played of this game, not sure why it seems so under preforming. this concept turned into a metroidvania would be better than Celeste IMO. but on sale, i think this game is good for anyone who likes precision platformers with some bosses. ill return to this game at some point, and update the review if i have to.
I have played a lot of 2D platformers, and I had a lot of fun playing Jack Axe. I would absolutely recommend giving this a try on casual difficulty - if you get unlucky with crashes like some people seem to have experienced, opt for the refund.
