I liked it, but I'd be lying if I didn't say it gets slightly above its element. The base of the game is nice with exploration mixed with clever platforming being rewarded, and while the final few upgrades do feel like they are guarded by rooms with too tight requirements, you do eventually overcome them. You get the feeling that good, clever maneuvering is far more important for success than mere reflexes, and this design philosophy is always welcome on precision platformers. After beating the game (which involves a boss that is trivialized if you did get everything before) there's a new challenge area that gets unlocked and... I am not quite sold on it. It's room after room of platforming challenges and while the map design does tell you that it'll eventually get not as linear, it did come off as that while I might eventually get consistent enough on all these rooms to make a beeline to the rooms where I'm not succeeding or doing so only after several failures, it'll feel like busywork. I might come back to hit my head against that wall and maybe I'll take to like it, maybe I'll find it really is as miserable as I imagined. But the base game is solid and a steal for its price.
An hour long metroidvania adventure that's pretty good considering its length. Of course, more of everything would have been appreciated, but it's a great small package. I really liked the aesthetics and music, bosses were original, and the upgrades were nice. 3.5/5 - Wait, there's DLC?!
Un mini-metroivania (ça se finit en une heure) très sympa. La maniabilité est bonne, les séquences de plateforme ont du challenge et les boss incorporent des éléments de bullet hell.
I would refund but it was 86 cents. No checkpoints; keybinds are AWFUL and you can't change without 3rd party tools. Instructional diagrams imply dpad controls but apparently are supposed to be actual ABXY buttons. Good luck precision platforming back through 20 rooms to get back to where you died... again. Otherwise it is fun when you nail one of the platforming challenges or finally get an upgrade, but I am not interested in brute-forcing my way through a section 25 times.
Look, I really liked the game at first, controlls were great and platforming was ok. And the difficulty in of itself would be fine with me, if there were a few more checkpoints to respawn from. I know, for such a small game, the run-back-time isnt very long, but when it always takes 1min before I can try that difficult segment again, that's just not fun, that's 1min wasted. And after 10 try's that's 10min of run-back-time.
This was a pretty fun game. i was taken aback by the difficulty since I hadn't gotten that impression from the screenshots. it's a difficult game, mostly because it demands a lot of fast and precise movements, and because there is only one checkpoint for most of the game. Thankfully there are checkpoints outside of boss encounters, but some parts of the game are pretty long and hard and it can be irritating to have to get back to where you were before. it's really enjoyable if your into that sort of thing. Thankfully I am. The ending is really abrupt though. There isn't much sense of building to an ending. Like a lot of Metroidvanias will have one big area that's given some gravitas as the final one in some way. Here though, I fought a boss and it just ended. So minus a point for that, but I'd still say it's a fun game to play
Great little MV!
vibes
There is a lot of content for just $3. The boss rush is also very fun but hard!!!
Very fun game to spend a few hours on. Totally worth playing. Although I have to say it kinda loses its charm in the second part where it stops being a metroidvania and becomes a hardcore platformer.
