About
Unite a Continent
The Rail Road Union has tasked you with an impossible feat: forging a path from the bustling East to the golden West. In this deep city builder simulation, you are the architect of progress. Lay tracks across treacherous terrain, establish vital trade routes, and transform isolated outposts into thriving hubs of civilization. The frontier is vast, but your ambition must be greater.
From Raw Earth to Iron Rails
Expansion requires more than just a blueprint; it demands a powerhouse of industry.
Harvest: Scout the wilderness to extract timber, stone, and precious ores.
Refine: Build complex production chains to turn raw materials into high-value trade goods and construction supplies.
Trade: Manage a dynamic economy where every resource can be sold for profit or used to fuel your westward expansion.
Procedurally Generated: Every game is uniquely generated, forcing you to adapt your resource chains and rail routes to the terrain. From the placement of mountain passes to the temperament of local villages
The Human Frontier
The West is already home to those who might not welcome the noise of progress. To succeed, you must master the art of negotiation. Every town leader and settler has a unique personality and a breaking point. You aren't just building stations you’re earning trust. Solve local crises, provide essential goods, and convince skeptical mayors that the railroad is their future, not their downfall.
Trade the market
Union of Rival features a feature rich simulated market that reacts to world events for all produced goods.

Undercooked and overpriced. There's a decent simulation engine there, but the player experience has barely been considered. Important information isn't available, the tutorial is poorly considered, the pacing is off, and when things happen there's no tools available to help you understand why. I'd be happy with this if it were a third of the price, but the devs don't seem to be aware of the market (or of players more generally).
The game has potential but it's not working properly yet. I get that dead bodies make citizens sick but it's incredibly excessive and if you run out of planks you can't make coffins and everyone dies before the planks get done. I get that you need to supply the general store but if the farm is fully staffed and the general store is fully staffed then I should not have problems with stocking the general store. I just can't watch people die over and over and no amount of micro managing seems to overcome the death mechanics. Maybe eventually it's not a pain and suffering simulator but thats what Union of Rivals is right now.

REVIEW WHILE IN EARLY ACCESS: Overall a great start, My first play through was a bit buggy with my farm not producing wheat, I started a second play through and my farm started producing right away. The first building that is to gather resources such as berries, stone, and logs however it only seems to be gathering the logs as that is the only thing getting to my storage. I have yet to see any mission on gathering stone with a mine or anything like that so I would think that first building would do more stone as well and yes, I do have stone within the area marked the building and workers cover. Overall so far it has been an interesting game and has kept my attention. I do recommend those who love city building/managing games to give this a try.| UPDATE 8/25/2026: After playing this game some more hours I can say it has kept my interest high. There is a bit of a learning curve as the tutorial does not really take you through a step by step goal/objective method but instead takes you through a series of goals you need to hit. For me personally is what made the learning curve a bit bigger than I would like. Took me restarting 3 times before I realized that I need to really slow it down and not grow my town so quickly by following the goals. This new game I am on now I have taken better look at my resources and taken my time to reach each goal. Still a great game in my opinion. I just noticed an update for this now so, tomorrow will be a better day.
I found this game confusing and assigning workers was more difficult than it should be. Also the ui drags. not for me
After finishing the content in this game, I can't in the current state recommend it to anyone. The idea could be good, and I think that's why I bought it in the first place. They simply have more work to do even for an early access game for this to be fun. The logistics and scripted missions are overly simple and trivialize the game. You don't need much tech at all to build a track to the destination in the one map you have access to right now, and most buildings are simply unnecessary. The characters you recruit have stats and traits, but even that doesn't matter because at the end of the day its just another person costing X dollars a day. Any micromanagement in this game feels mostly tedious, like at some point you could just lay down the plans for a track to the destination and mostly forget the game is running while it builds. Nearly all of your attention goes to buying things off the market you are low on in any given moment, occasionally doing missions which pay out all of your money. Anyway, I really do hope over time they figure out how to make everything feel actually fun and still stick within their original concept and vision.
I really like the concept. Have been waiting for a game like this for a while. The menu system takes a bit to get used to and learn where everything is, but I look forward to exploring the game further.
It's not a bad game per se - it's just not fun, it's a slog. Constant battle to keep on top of stuff even if you follow the tutorial recommended builds. Pass.
If you like the wild west and colony building game this is perfect. I love watching my citizens go to the saloon then shoot eachother in the street.
Tutorial is a joke. Very unbalanced. Way over priced.
