Daniel was just an average guy. He was a great videogame player, a big fan of sci-fi movies, and a novice RPG player. In the midst of an RPG, he was teleported to a castle. At first, Daniel believed that he was having a massive hallucination.

My favorite Metroidvania game. 10/10. Highly recommended!
In a word, wonderful. I couldn't give a break while playing. Just wonderful.
好玩,不错不错
Wonderful single player side scrolling Dungeon crawl with auto mapping. As it is over ten years old it still holds its own. A bargain-bin must have for your collection.
I only played the single player campaign annnd it's fine. It feels like a game trapped in the 90s for better or worse. The sole positive and reason you could have to play this over another similar game is that it has a bulky, classic rpg system where you have a plethora of skills, items, spells, etc that you can spec into to create a character build. It's interesting because you need melee and ranged, slash and blunt dmg, fire and ice dmg, armor or robes to empower your playstyle of choice, etc and you don't have enough points to cover everything, so you're forced to also invest into cheaper, lesser but necessary skills/items. That gets you thinking into how you solve your lack of X thing and that simultaneously draws you into adventuring like the game intended. Then there's the rest of the game which is just mid or ok at best. Movement is clunky but not to the point of feeling cheap. Platforming is basic and repetitive but not frustrating. Combat is also clunky but somewhat challenging. There are traps, both literal as in arrows protruding from the ground and indirect as in "hey you fell down a hole into a room full of enemies, now you'll die". The music is... there. Art too is ok. Writing is... adolescent, to say the least. And the whole adventure doesn't really escalate more than what you see around the first area. So, if you don't care about the rpg chracter building aspect of the game, then it has nothing left to offer you. Personally I happened into this game looking for recommendations after playing La Mulana. They are not alike at all, and playing it felt like I was just passing the time, not really doing something I enjoyed. This game gets plenty of love from some fans, but I think a review that also recognizes where it falls short is important too. So, here you go.
Recomendado!
It's fun, challenging, and humorous. Plenty of true love for RPGs and the dialogue is oozing with pop cultural references from the nerd realm.
This game is cool and funny and is very amusing for like the first 65% of the game and then ramps off the funny scale and turns almost impossibly annoying very quick. The last 3 or 4 areas are the mostly annoying and hard to beat and kind of turns into a souls-bourne game where one mistake ends you. The dialogue and throw backs are fun, and the game keeps you busy, but it gets choresome very quick.
