About
You know, when you explain an idea, the idea fundamentally changes.
UNBEATABLE is an anime-juiced rhythm adventure where you (figuratively) destroy on stage while you (literally) destroy on stage. During rhythm gameplay, you only need two buttons: a button for up and a button for down. Simple to understand! The complicated part is doing it. Try not to get destroyed yourself.
Half the game is walking around and taking things at your own pace. The other half is trying to keep up with ours.
The pink-haired girl is Beat, and she is you, and you have a lot of things to worry about. The cops are everywhere, and they are mad at you for what feels like no good reason. Though it doesn't help your case that you keep making friends with people that the cops are mad at for slightly better reasons. But what do I know?
Talk to people, help them out (or don't, I'm not your mom!), play huge concerts, and punch cops. And then run away from the cops you punched. Also there are monsters or something. Not sure what's going on there?!?!
All of this culminates in massive setpieces where everything is at stake. The music got you here. It'll get you through it.
*if this was 1999 this section would be called "talk the talk and rock the rock"
UNBEATABLE's full arcade mode is an entire game by itself with its own progression system and a full online component. There's modifiers, tons of songs (with more to come!) and a whole challenge board to beat, with things to do that range from as simple as "beat a song on easy mode" to, one may presume, something as complicated as "solve an ancient riddle while skateboarding." That's not a real example.

FEATURES:
Story Mode: 6-8 hours. Arcade Mode: UNLIMITED
Characters that hate you!
Maybe also some that don't!
The arcade mode has a cute little profile you can customize and unlock stuff for and I think that's pretty neat
Graphics! We'd describe them but I mean it's right there, you can see it
A whole entire double album worth of original songs
plus acoustic versions of those songs
oh and also remixes, too
You can unlock all the songs by playing the narrative OR just by playing the arcade game exclusively! Great for those who truly hate stories
Something (in this game) will make you feel something (in real life)!
It's anime
If you think about it, QTEs are basically just rhythm games with no music
Please, whatever you do, the title is either all caps or no caps. Be kind to us.
And the idea changes you in return.

Reviews
A flawed but deeply human story told through a cast of characters I only wish I had more time with. It won't be for everyone, no art worth experiencing ever is, but I think I can wholeheartedly recommend this game to anyone with a chip on their shoulder, anyone who wants to do *something* but can't figure out what or how, anyone who needs something to do between jobs or homes or big life events. Regardless, all I can ask is that you give it a try and let its charming characters, brash music, and colorful world hit you in a way that melts away your cynicism the same way it did mine.
very good!

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I picked this one up just because I'm a JamieP fan and I know some of her stuff is in it, but I played through the story and I really enjoyed myself. I suck at rhythm games, but I have a lot of fun with them. The
plot twist I found to be very predictable
, but the core message is very life-affirming and brought me to tears. The execution was by and large pretty slick, and there's a degree of charm here that I feel like is usually hard to find, but I think it is dampened a little bit by some (not major) technical issues... For example (spoilers included):

A lot of times, a battle of some kind would end and then the screen would just hang there for a bit, presumably as the next part loaded. It kind of breaks up the pace of things, and is just a bit puzzling.
In the sewer, I had a part where I was walking and the entire background just came unloaded and the sprite started freaking out... I thought it was the start of one of the other sequences but it was not actually.
In the city chapter, there's a pedestrian overpass, and I found walking over it on the far right end where the stairs to the hideout are, the sprite would rapidly oscillate between standing and mid-jump, like there was some kind of clipping issue.
In the
Arcade on the clone DDR game, the first time it loaded, it had the game over screen just immediately over the first screen.
I couldn't pause or anything to leave it, but I could still move the camera, so the game didn't hang up, it was just a softlock and so I had to close and reopen the game.
In arcade mode on the result screen I've similarly seen hangups where I can't seem to navigate the menu with my controller and I've had to reset the game.
On the whole, I think these were pretty minor issues and they didn't bother me too much but I went ahead and picked up a physical copy for the Switch 2 and I hope they'll be resolved in that release. I think it's well worth a play and recommend! Even if you don't play a lot of rhythm games they do a lot to make it accessible and so I think it is a great try even if it's outside your normal wheelhouse.
I'd also really like them to sell some of those stickers from the poster making part!

UNBEATABLE and Determination
I first stumbled upon UNBEATABLE through the GOAT Jamie Paige advertising it on her page, and since then I've been playing the game nonstop. The music is awesome and the gameplay is awesome, what more is there to ask? A story mode. THATS what there is to ask. At first I thought it was going to be another cliche "hero saves the day trope", but it was much deeper than that. The main character has their own struggles they go through, which are easy to resonate with due to having similar circumstances. (Not doing music illegally, but you'll see if you play the game.) The side characters are well thought out as well. They each have their own little back stories and personalities I find to be very charming and complimentary to the overall story mode. But the thing I love most about this game -- besides the fact it has JAMIE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ PAIGE as an artist, is the theme it explores. There's always been games that have tried the "persevere through anything" message ever since Undertale got popular, but not all of them hit the mark the right way. UNBEATABLE does though. Whether it be through its relatable characters
or kickass outro sequence
there's something about it that resonates with me that I just can't put my finger on. I love UNBEATABLE with all my heart, and I can tell how much effort was put into this game. Whether it be all caps or no caps, I hope when you play this game, if you ever decide to, it resonates with you the same way it has with me. - Joop
what the ♥♥♥♥ i don't want to cry
The story mode broke me. It came out at a time when I was in a deep depressive rut and didn't know how to move forward in my life nor what that moving forward looked like. Beat's story showed me what it meant to be human and what regaining the spark in my life practically looks like, and I owe d-cell the world for that. The Arcade mode is phenomenal. It's one of those "easy to learn, difficult to master" games, which encouraged me to push myself farther than I ever anticipated, reaching top 300 North America and top 600 global as of the writing of this review. If you want a story mode that is so though-provoking it changes your brain chemistry and an equally addictive arcade mode, you won't be disappointed, seriously.
