Umineko When They Cry - Question Arcs

Great first half of umineko, (i am writing this before reading the answers arc) Through the first four episodes there are incredibly strong moments and also hours and hours and hours of exposition that at times is repeating the same thing that has been said 12 times. While in episode 1 very needed to learn the characters the characterization of the main family tends to be the bit samey on the different fragments. Outside of that though episode 4 is incredible. Ange's subplot with maria and the general philosophy of learning what "magic" can mean for the first time creates an entire new lens of all that you've read so far. The game of ep 4 is a bit of a slog (mainly the prison scene) which feels hard to take serious at points though im sure this is more of a product of not understanding it at this point of the story. Maria and Ange are pretty easily the best characters through this half though im sure battler will become an actual character soon enough. Anyway 7/10 or so through these eps, will most definitely be better in retrospect after finishing. (ryushiki exposition hurts my soul at times.)

I'm partway through chapter two; this game is really keeping me on my toes! ...Also I've only actually played 13 hours. I fell asleep with the game open. Twice.

it's a blessing you only need one hand to play this game with. anytime this witch is on screen it gets freaky as hell.

despite the slow pacing, i thought that the question arcs were worthwhile, episode 1 had a really cool atmosphere, 3 was nice despite some slow moments, and 4 was a really good send-off despite it starting really slow and me not liking ange much. sountrack was cool too.
