It is a very good experience for the price. If you like Outlast games this is a good option to try. It complies with what it offers, it is entertaining with good background music and an intense experience. It works very well on the Steam Deck and offers very good graphics. Recommended
I streamed this game to some friends on discord and it went well! This game is kinda tricky, I would say that you shouldn't get frustrated if you die multiple times. This game takes a lot of tries when you do a puzzle mid chase. Over all it's a solid game!
To be fair, I don't usually play horror games in general, but there's something about this game that really induces that adrenaline rush. Gameplay: This game has a nice feel to it and it really involves a very compelling environment which revolves around dark alleys as well as many psychological factors which can easily trigger that sensation of fear. The game is well made since it exploits what the vast majority of people are afraid of. I definitely liked the idea of stamina since it makes you feel more aware of your remaining moves or simply how much you can run. Settings: When it comes to settings, they seem to be more than effective enough for the game to run as smooth as possible. The only inconvenience during this section was that you're not able to disable vsync which will mostly affect high end pc's but other than that it's perfectly acceptable. Languages: The current languages available in this game are english and spanish which is completely fine. These languages should be enough, but adding more in the foreseeable future would be highly appreciated for a much more wide audience. Price: There isn't a lot to cover during this section, but basically the price($7.99) is quite reasonable compared to the vast majority of horror games in the market. I may even go the extra mile just to say that it's considered a cheap game in terms of price Constructive criticism: -Adding more languages -Disable Vsync -Adding a multiplayer feature -Increasing the field of view Overall, this game provides an excellent atmosphere for the average horror game enjoyer and it will probably scare you a couple of times. If you're extremely skeptical, try it out and develop your own thoughts by playing the game.
With 2022 being full of different horror games, Umbra surprises with a more traditional experience! You're in a backrooms-style map with the objective to run away from the killer while solving small puzzles to open doors / exits. Some of the puzzles actually left me wondering through the whole map, rewarding my exploration with additional batteries or hiding spots. The controls feel tight and fluid, which for a game with quick movements its really important! With good gameplay and good controls, its enough for a positive recommendation! But that doesn't mean there aren't things to improve! The level design depends a lot in trial and error, but without a minimap or some marking, I would usually get lost since I wouldn't know the objective at first after a couple of deaths. (Once I figured Out what to do, I had a blast!) I also experienced some glitches, which could be easily patched in the future, like clipping through a door, menus stacking over each other and the ilumination around some of the reflective backgrounds being too dark for my screen (maybe thats a me problem lol) Despite some small shortcomings, Umbra features strong gameplay, controls and exploration, being a great recommendation for Horror Games Fans this Holiday 2022! From what I've played so far, Umbra deserves an 8/10, an impressive Indie Horror Game for the price, and leaves me excited to see what else the developer have planned for the future!
Muy buen juego con buenos graficos y una jugabilidad muy interesante.
Short but a fun and challenging experience. Reminds me very much of Outlast. I liked the environment, I found the place where everything takes place to be extremely creepy and really just nightmare material. Got a few scares when I didn't expect certain animations or the killers around the corner. Overall I rate it 8/10, when I escaped the place I felt really satisfied. In the future having a bit more development on the storyline can be great, and a dedicated keyboard controls button in the menu where you can change or at the very least see the keybinds. Even though they were not too complicated or bad on this game.
Not bad at all! This was a nice surprise, a very simple but very thrilling classic slasher that you'll like if you are a fan of this genre. The main killer is particularly scary, because he is relentless and very silent, you have to outsmart him to survive. Running and hiding is not sufficient this time, you have to study your surroundings and use stealth and environment to avoid his bloody knife. He looks like a terrifying mixture between two of the most fearsome killers of cinema, Michael Myers (for his weapon and his behavior) and Jason Vorhees (for his hulking build). I had a lot of fun with this game, so I certainly recommend it, even if it is still a work in progress (just the first chapter is currently available). Cheers guys!
I think there should be different buttons for when you interact with things and leaning to the side, maybe Z could be for flashlight and make F to interact so that you don't do the lean everytime you try to open a door. Its a fun game for what it's worth and the soundtrack is pretty well made
