About

Your master has fallen on the battlefield. You are his steed, and you take up the sword in his place. Advance through a typing game inspired by board games and roguelites, square by square, rolling dice each turn. Encounter monsters, chests, shops, events, and tactical choices in a world drawn like a living Gothic manuscript.

Your keyboard is your primary weapon. Type the words displayed on the screen to attack, break through defenses, or dodge enemy strikes. The faster and more precise you are, the more damage you inflict. Bosses, elites, and medieval creatures will put your reflexes to the test.

Every victory, every chest, and every event grants you a card: permanent bonuses, curses, unique effects, or heroic abilities. Combine them to create devastating or utterly chaotic builds. In this roguelite, your deck defines your destiny.

the game is pretty fun and id say 15 bucks is a pretty good price and the fact that some of the art may be ai but doesnt make the game less fun
I came here to write a review after experiencing a couple weird inconsistencies, and after reading other reviews I fear my comments are very much in line with much of the discourse about this game being AI-generated. First, let me say that I don't really follow game development very closely usually, so when this game popped up in my suggested games I just added it to my wishlist and bought it because it was a typing game and it had a medieval art style. However, as soon as I started playing the game I was confused by the lack of information about *how* the game was supposed to work. The way the cards you receive work is never explained, and instead you just have to learn intuitively how long each card might last, what it does, and whether or not it offers a permanent buff or a temporary change. While strange, I figured that since the game was kind of like a roguelike (if you squint) that maybe that was intentional, but it really doesn't make any sense. On a recent round of the Hard mode, I was offered a curse by the witch that said it would reduce my attack *by* 1. Instead, it reduced my attack *to* 1, which basically killed my run then and there. I have noticed more inconsistencies across the cards (sometimes I select and use a card and it does nothing or it doesn't do what it described it would but something else entirely) and zones (the full health zone never fills my health to a number that makes sense). I really want to like this game, but it is largely repetitive and if the majority of the assets are really AI-generated (I'm not expert in this area, but I do see the things other reviewers are pointing out) then I'm very disappointed that I ever spent money on this game. If you don't know how to do a part of game design, then teach yourself--isn't that the point of making something?
I'm having a good time with this game. The mix of typing gameplay, roguelite progression, and board game mechanics works surprisingly well, and the Gothic manuscript aesthetic gives it a lot of personality. While I'm not particularly enthusiastic about generative AI in games, I appreciate the developer's transparency about its use and his commitment to replacing the AI-made icons with hand-crafted ones after release. That honesty goes a long way, and the overall presentation and gameplay clearly reflect a lot of care, craftsmanship, and effort. The typing feels responsive and satisfying, and I enjoyed experimenting with different card combinations and builds. It's a creative and refreshing take on the genre. If you enjoy typing games, this is definitely worth a try.
