Very average. Plays like a poor man's 'Arkanoid' and the story is kind of preachy. As for this being a PC port from the Playstation game, they could have at least added a 'exit' button to the main menu. It was built for Playstation users to quit via the 'PS Button'. This is a rather annoying oversight.
LSM!
Best game ever made.
A great entry into the brick breaker genre. Controlling up to 4 paddles at once offers a good challenge, especially when combined with increasing ball speeds and a time limit. The main story can be completed in around an hour but there are a lot of alternative play modes which should provide more entertainment afterwards. A few gripes: - There is no way to aim the ball (as per a lot of older brick breakers, something solved by newer games like Shatter, Ultra Break etc). This can lead to frustration when going for the last few bricks, especially when combined with a time limit. A way to aim with precision would have been welcome. - There doesn't seem to be an exit to desktop button in the menu for he PC version of the game. I suspect the console version has been ported straight across with no changes outside of Steam achievements. I found myself having to tab out and kill the game manually whenever I wanted to quit. - It would have been nice to see a bit more boss variation (i.e Shatter, Wizorb). I never found the bosses very challenging or needed to use any tactics aside from bouncing the ball at them. The above issues are very minor (and aside from the exit button issue personal preference), and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Twin Breaker to fans of old school brick breakers.
No clear way to Quit/Exit To Desktop cleanly.
fun game, bought for 1.99 and definitely got my moneys worth.
Brick-breaker has a story, classic gameplay, and standard features that will not appeal to gamers who are not fans of the genre. The gameplay is a traditional block-breaker with a twist. Instead of one paddle, you must control two, and eventually four. This makes it slightly more tough, but not overly so. First and foremost, stages do not overstay their welcome with a large amount of blocks, and secondly, the luck ratio for powerups is quite reasonable. Standard features include a shield to block the bottom, multi-balls, faster balls, etc. A lengthy introduction explains the reasoning for your actions in the game. Long story short, Earth dispatched ships to seek out new places to live. Because travel is lengthy, it will take several generations to reach their target. After years of no contact, the first ship appears and transmits the location of a hidden wormhole. Two pilots are selected to fly into it and see what they can discover. As you progress through the main level mode, you will acquire additional plot elements in the form of articles. The only condition is to complete a stage with the required number of points. Points, on the other hand, are irrelevant if all you want to do is complete a stage. The only thing you have to keep in mind throughout the 40 levels is the three-minute time limit. Getting enough points can be difficult because each lost ball deducts some points. Although you can only lose three balls per stage, you can purchase additional with points. A grading system is also in place, although it can be ignored because progress doesn't depend on it. There are a couple additional modes as well. You have shooter mode, where the paddles constantly fire lasers and you must destroy blocks before they reach the bottom, hockey, which plays like original Pong, and catcher game, where you gather coins while avoiding bugs. If you don't enjoy breaking bricks, this game will not change your mind. Especially because it includes the same annoyances as most similar games. The first is the last brick or bricks at an unusual location that can only be reached with a lucky bounce. It happened multiple times where time was running out and I had only one brick remaining. The second issue is that too much relies on luck. If you don't get lucky with a heavy ball that breaks every block in its path, you won't get enough points for a collectible or the highest grade. Luck or heavy ball is also associated with the second half of the level mode. That’s when the ball's speed and bounce are too erratic to allow you to block it with any of the four paddles. Again, the only way to win is to be lucky with a heavy ball that doesn't send it flying. However, the above issues matter only if you want the best scores. Even if you run out of time and still have bricks on the stage, there's still a chance to beat a stage because exploding trucks will fly across the screen.
Written By Hidden Gems Review : https://store.steampowered.com/curator/38624426/
Review: Twin Breaker is a double arcade game. Why I say "double" arcade? Because the game it's doubled literally the normal arknoid game you use 1 bar for play, but here can be x2 and x4, so yeah that twin brothers make a lot of sense. The gameplay it's good and there are several interesing modes fun but after play a few hours you will get bored fast. You can see my Gameplay here : https://youtu.be/nhy7-S-0tVs
Really great game. The twin joystick twist is really cool. The best are the in jokes with Colin. His podcast is the best and l have been following Colin since his Gamefaq and IGN days. The only thing is there is no exit to steam option in the menu. Other than that it is a great game and is highly recommended.
It's a brick breaker, but you control 2-4 paddles at once. There is a campaign with 40 levels, NG+, and several other extra modes. Good value for $10 or less. Unfortunately, achievements currently don't count as it has the "Profile Features Limited" curse. It's a shame because the creators care about the achievements. Buy Lillymo's games ! and play them ! so the curse may be lifted.
