Having defeated the Campaigner, Turok throws the Chronocepter into a waiting volcano to destroy it. Unfortunately the blast awakens an even deadlier force - The Primagen. Once again a Turok is tasked with restoring peace to the land and stopping the Primagen from merging Earth with the nether world.

This game has a special place in my heart. My brother and I got the game from one of the game magazines back then for our pc. It wasn´t his type of game but for me it was a highlight, even if it was the german low-violence version back then. I was very happy when Nightdive Sutdios released this remastered version of Turok 2.
Firstly don’t look at the playtime since it didn’t update for some reason (probably my internet cut out when I was playing it but achievements unlocked however playtime didn’t weird) Anyway it took around 10h to beat but I didn’t like it so why I am thumbing it out? Because it’s good weapons are fun gore is really good but holy ♥♥♥♥ playing it is miserable at times. It tries to be metroidvania to explore other areas later after you unlocked some power up and it sounds cool since Doom 2016 is borrowing it in some way but in Turok 2 it didn’t work (at least for me) you are going to back track the whole level since for example you missed a nuke weapon part and you WILL need it same for feathers and other power ups or just mission objective in general like rescuing villager or destroying ammo storage and it is fun but the map is just bad. If you are making a game about exploring your map needs to be good this one is bare bones if it didn’t exist it probably wouldn’t make much difference and yeah I used the map for some levels but most of the time I was looking at it and thinking to myself “Where the ♥♥♥♥ is this part of the map” and so on. There is only 6 levels however each one takes 1h+ to beat. If Turok 2 got a remake with Id Software or Dead Space Remake quality it would probably be one of the best remakes ever. TLDR: If you liked Turok 1 but not that much don’t go for it however if you really liked first one grab it on sale and try it out 6/10.

13 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
13 on sale2 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 2 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Sep 14: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 13 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I played this since my childhood on the n64 console and now here I am playing it again with my laptop. So fun...
After finishing the game, I can say I was taken back to my childhood while playing. Worth every moment spent. The music, the environment, the weapons and the creatures. The cutscenes and the levels. Even "The Hive"! Just too damn long :D
Kid me was a dumbass, these levels aren't that confusing
The levels can become a maze but the game is enjoyable.
An improvement over the first game but still has its own growing pains. So after beating the first Turok game last year, I finally decided to jump into the second game. I always wanted to play the Turok games as a kid but never had an N64 growing up, so it’s nice to finally experience them. But what did I think? Firstly, the game is a step up in terms of its visuals going from the first game to this. Obviously the graphics are dated for today’s standards but you definitely notice a lot more detail in the environments and the facial animations for your main character, Joshua, look a lot better then the dude from the first game. I have not played the original game but as usual, Nightdive have done a good job uprezzing the visuals so the game looks good on modern displays. The shooting feels really good for all the weapons and I liked how the game has a pretty gory dismemberment system. Nothing on the level of a game like Dead Space but you’d be surprised how violent this game can actually be. Blood constantly sprays out of the enemies as you shoot them and if you blow off their head or a limb, blood pours out like a fountain. There are also a lot of weapons in this game and most of them are really fun to use. My favorites were the Shredder (long range shotgun), the firestorm cannon and the Cerebral Bore which shoots out these homing devices at enemies that digs into their heads and sucks their brains out before killing them. Basically a one shot weapon and that was very fun to use. You even get the game's BFG-like gun in the Nuke weapon which you need to find six parts in each level to assemble it, and it’s definitely worth it even though you only get it basically just before the final boss. The mission structure is also pretty good as each level will have multiple objectives for you to complete. These can include saving civilians or blowing up structures guarded by the enemies of each level. While it stops the game from feeling just like a basic key hunt like most boomer shooters, similar to the first game you will still be finding keys that you take back to the main hub and use to unlock the portals to the later levels. I also like that you can just manually save from the pause menu and make quick saves which was a lot more limited in the first game where you could only save at specific shrines. All that being said, there’s also quite a bit to complain about. Firstly the ammo economy is terribly balanced imo. The maximum amount of ammo you can carry for each weapon is pretty low so you will be running out fairly often while running through the levels. And while the enemies respawn frequently the ammo often doesn’t, except for a few spots in the levels. And ya it's very easy to get overwhelmed just by the sheer amount of enemies the game throws at you at times. You can restock on ammo and health at each of the fast travel points in the levels, but these are one time use refills so it's a limited resource. Another issue is the game has too many weapons imo and some of them just feel redundant compared to others. Like you start the game with a bow that shoots normal arrows but 20 mins into the first level you pick up the Tek Bow that can shoot normal arrows and tek (explosive) arrows. While the guns that share ammo types shoot differently enough to justify having both, the bow doesn’t really. It can all just make cycling through weapons to the ones you actually want to use a chore. My major complaint though mainly comes from the game’s downright labyrinthian level design. Now if you have read my reviews for any amount of time you’ll know that I love games with intricate level design that doesn’t just make it a linear corridor or a bloated open world. Games like Dishonored, Prey and the System Shock series are a few great examples of that for me. This game has very long, complex levels that can be a chore to go through, since you often will miss something earlier in the level that you need to progress or you get to the end and realize you’ve missed an objective entirely and have to go back. I mean the levels are so long that they put 3 fast travel portals in each level which makes backtracking to previous levels at least easier, but it shows you how overly long they are. This remaster does add in hint markers (which you can turn off in the settings) that highlights items to interact with for progression, but they only come up when you're near the objects and it still didn’t really stop me from getting lost most of the time. Eventually I had to rely on walkthroughs so that I didn’t miss key items or there were times where I had no idea how to even progress through the level without some help. Lastly there’s the story, which is also pretty underwhelming. Firstly, it is definitely an improvement over the first game that barely had any story at all but this game does at least make an attempt. It’s not overtly bad by any means, it's just kind of the bare minimum storytelling by today’s standards. The game even starts with your main character, Joshua just jumping through a portal (no real build up either) as he meets Adon, who is your main guide through the game and basically the only character you really interact with for most of the game. Joshua is a silent protagonist so don’t expect much else other than just go kill the bad guys and save the galaxy. Also the final boss is absolutely atrocious to fight in how you have to shoot specific body parts (with tiny hot boxes) during each stage of the fight to hurt him and he can regain health mid fight, plus the usual stuff like summoning minions to help him and drop bombs down on you. Overall though, despite my complaints I did enjoy this title but the cons stopped it from being one I truly loved. I still want to play Turok 3 and finish up this trilogy but I can recommend this one.
