I couldn't remember what was the last time I laughed alone with a game

Dull gameplay loop

Absolutely hilarious game that is highly recommended to play. It's a great joy to play with fun and honestly stupid dialog that just adds to the ridiculous premise of the game. RIP Jerry he didn’t deserve to die.

I think the game is mostly a vessel to carry the jokes that the dev wanted to write. Which is fine. It's a fun adventure, just be aware that it's also very short and linear. I bought it on sale, played through it once for the story, had a couple chuckles and felt my money was well spent. I don't think I would buy it at full price.

At first, it was quite boring for me, especially on the entry levels. Later however, having introduced more complicated puzzles and mechanics, the adventure became genuinely interesting and absorbing. The game is filled with jokes and references to memes, in dialogues especially. Some of them, I am afraid, are rather forgettable and sometimes even too obsolete to easily get the reference (the navy seals copypasta was solid gold though xD). The gameplay is really easy and simple to understand. I liked the portal mechanic, as well as different puzzles throughout the game. The fight system is a lackluster though and usually consists of pushing one, maybe two buttons. The last two bosses were more demanding and encouraged using different combos of Turnip Boy’s abilities. These two particular fights were also hard and I died a lot - so I wish there was a possibility of skipping their introductory cutscenes. The game was also pretty smooth and I didn’t encounter any problems (besides maybe some attacks, which were hard to dodge and instantly pushed the Turnip Boy into the wall, without the possibility to move). There is also a post-game with a rogue-like level system. Overall, the game brings some joy and relaxation, and is perfect for some laid-back gaming. In my opinion, it deserves a 5.5/10.

Not sure if it was the LTTP inspiration, the art style or OST but this was honestly some of the most fun I've had in a while. The OST really hit me with such a wave of nostalgia, all the characters, story, world all fit together perfectly. 10/10 would absolutely recommend.
