Vampy is cast out of vampire society for being too small. In the Vampire Court, weakness is unacceptable.
Then Solea finds him. A sun fairy with no business befriending a vampire, Solea believes Vampy might be the Ashborn: a figure of prophecy destined to either end sunlight forever or be the means of its salvation. She chooses to believe that Vampy can become good.
Together, they sneak through sunlit villages full of goofy villagers, dark mysterious forests and caves, and ultimately return to the Vampire Court where Vampy must confront his destiny. Along the way, Vampy must decide whether to give in to his vampiric instincts or to lend a helping hand to the characters they find along the way.
