Overall, I did enjoy some aspects of this game but a lot of things starting bothering me as I progressed later into the story. If you enjoy survival exploration sandbox games, this will likely be a good game for you. This game also has co-op, which is a bonus in my book. However, be aware that many aspects of this game is repetitive. If that doesn't bother you, then feel free to give this game a shot. For me personally, the early game started off well then after I completed the first major story area, I started to notice significant repetition. Below is a summery of the good and bad of my single player experience:
Good:
-Main Story missions feels good to explore. -Discovering, researching, and building/crafting new items feels good. -Upgrading, decorating, and flying your ship feels good. -Steady progression without a significant difficulty spike. -Good quality of life features such as being able to craft from anywhere in your ship, given you have the materials in your chests or on your person. -Game runs well and didn't have any crashes.
Bad:
-Can only craft ONE item at a time in fabricators. There is no "craft x amount of item". -Game becomes very repetitive quickly when visiting same variants of places. That starts happening in the first hour of the game. -Significant lack of
enemy variety.
-World feels empty without any enemies to fight against for 90% of the game.
Many of the places you visit doesn't have a single enemy. Enemies you do find are usually stationary and pose little to no threat to you.
-Much of the world is not interactable outside of what your extractor can salvage. -No way to improve how quickly your extractor can pick up objects
(currently only does reload speed, charge, and efficiency for how much you can pick up).
-No way to turn off the auto-aim feature for the extractor. -Knives should have 5x the durability, or just remove its durability entirely. Having to bring 5 to fully clear a single greenhouse is not good game design and is very immersion breaking. -Audio effects of things on your ship are extremely loud and gets quite annoying (such as the water collectors). In fact, everything water related is just really loud. -Stack size of many items feels way too low with no way to improve that. -Unable to quickly deposit into chests by looking at it and hitting a keybind. Currently the player has to go through unnecessary loop of opening a chest and manually clicking the deposit like-items button. -
The "massive colossal lifeforms" never attacks your ship and poses no threat to you. The player can't interact with them in any way. Basically a look but don't touch feature... makes me question why it was added in the first place.
-Way too easy to cheese mechanics. Fallen off your ship? Just hit "player unstuck" to teleport back with no downsides. -No voice acting for the PDA's.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 28: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I was really really really enjoying this game...UNTIL the new update which has basically made the hours I invested in building a ship, worldbuilding, etc. are now completely unplayable due to the new mechanics (unless I want to completely deconstruct my entire ship to put down one new item to make it somewhat functional) I work a full time job and really don't want to start a new save when I spent hours in between my ten hour shifts building this one. Thank you for the hours I invested in this game, but now it is just going to be one of those indie games that I never touch again Update: Well, the devs absolutely impressed me. Not often do you post something game breaking and a dev personally responds and has it fixed in a day (that alone is enough for me to support them). This game on its own has been a massive joy for me! It is a very unique take on a post-apocalypse style game where you build your flying base, explore, and try to save what is left of humanity in orbit. I would highly recommend this game now. Thank you devs for caring about your community and their feedback!
4/10 I want to like this game, I really do, the blimp building is cool, but that is all this game has going for it, everything else is so half assed it’s just so sad. Location variety, biome variety, enemy variety, base part variety, all are non-existent. Basically, once you’ve been to one radio tower you’ve been to them all, fought one dumb bug thing fought them all, built one blimp room built them all. In addition to that, combat is not fun in an annoying speed bump way. The story is just kind of uninteresting mid. I find it impossible to build a cockpit that has good visibility. The blimp doesn't have any lateral movement. The pipe system is complete trash. Don't have enough decorative ship parts or furniture. Inventory is too small, and upgrades are uninteresting and unrewarding. And to top it all off the optimization for this game is horrible for a game that is as ugly as this one. All this game does is crash crash crash crash.
Another example why you should never buy Early Access games. Most of the time you only get unfinished crap. This game plays even worse in its "final release", than during early access: - the gameplay is boring and tedious. - getting the advanced ship equipment is just painfully boring grind. (this was easier during early access) - The map/radar is horrible: There is no chance to find the same place again. No manual markers to set. No north/south orientation. - The performance is also horrible as the game eats up all GFX-Mem. Even with low texture settings 8GB are not enough. And as soon as the GFX-Mem is full the game is a stuttering mess. After I went down with the elevator in one place and spend lots of crystal batteries for the oxygen supplies, I dared to do some "side-quests", before finishing the short main story, and thus left that elevator tower. After you do that, there is zero chance to find that same elevator tower again! The main quest marker always points to different elevator towers, where you again have to spend all the crystal batteries for the oxygen supplies. And finally that main quest marker pointed to a location behind one of those barriers, so that I could not reach it again at all. Although I was already there before! I’m aborting my “final release” play through now. This was a waste of money and time. Congrats to the Devs for providing another pointless trash-game to the market.
Some games you can tell the designers put a lot of thought into the points of interest and thought carefully about the player experience. Unfortunately Forever Skies is not one of those games. Even playing for just a few hours you can tell the level design is sloppy and repetitive. Ship controls are rudimentary and it feels more like driving a car in than an airship. The entire premise of the game seems to be that strong winds push around immense amounts of dust yet your airship ignores it completely and flies as if on rails. Just overall disappointing and poorly designed.
Spent it's time in early access but now seems to be going through a rework? What is early access for then? Why release the game into 1.0 if it's obviously not done? Reply to the developer comment: It's not really more content, it's reworking (Or re-designing, in your own words) content that was half baked after early access, with some new things here and there as part of that. The whole point of early access is to build the game along with feedback from the players. To then release in 1.0, sell at full price with people believing that product is now complete only to then spend an entirely additional year (And potentially more) reworking the game content because of feedback is dishonest and that's what's worthy of a negative review. It should have just been kept in EA for another year. Just as an added note, saying you could have left the game as is instead of taking reacting to feedback doesn't make it sound benevolent, it sounds more like a "praise us for fixing the game instead of taking your money and running.", not a good look.
Forever Skies has a refreshing core concept. Instead of building a base on the ground, you must stay airborne and construct, expand, and maintain your own airship to explore the world. This creates a unique gameplay loop and gives exploration a different feel compared to many other survival games. Unfortunately, the story lacks depth. While the journey toward the ending provides a sense of purpose and gives the player clear objectives to work toward, the narrative itself remains very simple and linear throughout. There are no meaningful choices to make, and the plot rarely develops beyond its basic premise. Exploration is enjoyable at first, but the world suffers from limited variety. Many locations start to feel familiar after a while, and the sense of discovery can fade rather quickly. Depending on your tolerance for repetition, the exploration may become monotonous long before the game reaches its conclusion. From a technical perspective, however, the game performs well. During my playthrough, it was stable, polished, and largely free of significant technical issues. The ending itself is probably the game's weakest point. The final sequence feels underdeveloped and lacks any real sense of impact or closure. The presentation is bland, the consequences of your actions are barely noticeable, and there is little effort to show how the world or its characters are affected by what you have accomplished. Instead, the game simply drops you into an endless sandbox mode after the credits, making the finale feel disconnected and somewhat hollow. In the end, I cannot give a clear recommendation one way or the other. Whether Forever Skies is worth your time is something each player has to decide for themselves. While the core idea is interesting and the game is technically solid, I do not feel that the amount of content and overall experience fully justify the regular asking price. At a discount, however, it is certainly worth considering for fans of survival and exploration games.
I played the game when it first released in Early Access and greatly enjoyed it. I pretty much bulldozed all of the content that was available at the time. I put it on the shelf to wait till release and recently got the itch to give the full game a go. Unfortunately, if you're a player like me that is very sensitive to screen shake, I cannot recommend the game. At some point between Early Access launch and now the gathering tool was changed to shake the screen whenever it is used and there is no way to disable it. For someone like me, the game is completely unplayable because of it. I hope when the recently announced update releases I can come back and change my recommendation.
With friends, the game crashes so frequently and so much progress is lost that the game becomes very tedious, having to redo hours of work. Don't play with friends until they fix coop features.
