難易度は基本高めなのかなとは思いますが、設定で難易度調整もできますしシステムもシンプルで遊びやすいです ステージ結構長めではあるのですが、中ボスがたびたび出てくるのでダレません モニターを縦にして暇を見つけてはこつこつ遊んでるのですが上達しているのが実感できてきて楽しんでます

It's a vertical scroll shooter game and it's an arcade coin muncher scam. The screen is filled with bullets; you have only one HP and a big hit box; your default speed is very slow, but all the upgrades you get reset on death, so you will be stuck in a death loop with a ship unable to evade; you are often attack from below; it's hard to see enemy's projectiles because they are on a lower layer than most of the noise. There are three fire modes — orange spread, green focused fire, and blue electric gun that sticks to the enemies. Which is both not that common and very early in gaming. It is the most amusing one but also in some situations it's sub-optimal and it really does fill the screen with noise hiding enemy's bullets. You can collect upgrade tokens until you get five and your gun is improved. There are three weapon levels including the lowest. On death you lose all the upgrades but no the tokens. You shoot some goons, then several small enemies come, and they are absolutely stupid damage sponges. After you finally finish them the game gives you an achievement because it counts them as bosses. With twenty "bosses" in the game you will see such unsatisfactory fights a lot. There're a very few actual single big bosses with their own patterns. Well, the game is not very exciting. This one is a great release. You can become a sportsmen and train to beat this not very long unfair game created to racket kids' coins on one life. You can insert infinite virtual coins. You can use save-games between the levels. Or you can rewind. There are sufficient display options. There are no stupid baked-in envelopes for the render, and there’s screen rotation option, allowing you to properly play it on your 3//4 vertical screen.

About the sound: The sound is the most frequently cited issue I've seen with this game. I don't own the arcade board, but it does sound different than what I'm used to on MAME. Like the emulation of the arcade game's synthesizers are different. I don't think it's bad, just different and not quite as good and perhaps missing some instrument sounds. Watching lets plays from the arcade hardware the sound is annoyingly thin, due to the fact that these games were designed to resonate in an arcade cabinet. The included lowpass filter goes a long way towards making this emulation sound more pleasant to the ear. Set it at around 2.5k order 2. Bottom line: Sound is quite acceptable, for me and it still sounds like Truxton. It also may have been improved with the last patch since the some of the complaints were made. About the difficulty: Another frequent complaint is the difficulty. I can't disagree that the game is very hard. For me though, it's a type of difficulty I find compelling. Even though I'm not super great at this game, it gives me the feeling that I could be if I just practiced harder. Truxton as a game is not perfect. It's not the prettiest or best sounding game around even under the best circumstances, IMO. But it such a legendary SHMUP for a reason. This version plays very smooth and has a lot of modern bells and whistles like leaderboards and practice modes to make it more compelling than just firing up MAME.

This game is great! ive actually beaten this game on the Megadrive once it was very rewarding and fun! what is good here though is the rewind feature! if you are new to these types of games its difficulty and challenge wont stop you from enjoying it! and believe me, they throw alot of curveballs to you know squeeze those coins from you at the arcade.... but here is a comfortable version that you can play through for the fun of it!

Truxton feels exactly the same from I played in old arcade way back in the day. There is one slight difference it is really minor does not effect game play , but the audio is off. the reason it's off is who ever ported this did so with out reviewing the audio on the original hardware it is forgivable and in this case understandable the game is 30+ years old finding original hardware is not easy lol. As silly as this might sound I actually loved the way the music played out in this game. If you do pay for this game it is the one better ones out in that era in my opinion. Not to hard not crazy hard yet reserves a level skill to play this. The thing that always stood out was the the other weapons are different not better just another way to play the game. So if board with what your doing then you can switch the main weapon and try that way.

Dommage, cela aurait pu être une bonne adaptation.... Mais comme d'habitude c'est ni fait, ni à faire... Pour ceux qui ont connu le jeu en salon d'arcarde sur borne, fuyez !!! ça ressemble, c'est tout

Fun game Plays great on Steam Deck

First ran into this with Evercade's Toaplan collection. The booklet that came with the cart had a bit of a weird story about one of the company member's story about another company member talking about the game Originally I bought the cart for Wing Zero... but I found love with Truxton. As it is an awesome game Decided to buy it again on Steam The Achievements on Steam are actually pretty decent for encouraging people to play the game Highly recommend this game
