Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Sep 3 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

OVERVIEW: Some books you read are intellect upgrades, some people you meet have a life changing impact...and, even less titles you play, are game changers, this my friends is the case of Truxton 2 by Toaplan. With courtesy of Bitwave and Clear River Games, Truxton 2 is a masterpiece that returned and aged like the best wine you may ever had the chance to experience. Thus, It tears my heart apart to see the little attention this game has received to the date within the reviews figures scope, and here I am, months after my last game review was posted... to get the record straight about this pillar of the shmup spectrum. Bare in mind before these 59 hours I uncerimoneously invested playing this gem on Steam, I had around double that time in its arcade cabinet original iteration. As time went by after that era, new shmups have entered and exit my life, but Truxton 2 never stopped from shining and claiming in my memory a place as a state of the art product. Pros -» Gameplay: As you progress in the campaign you gradually need to pick speed to assist dodging certain projectiles patterns or even boss mechanics, which feels suited to make you adapt better. From the weapons available, red napalm option seems to be the better balanced for the challenges you encounter. -» Soundtrack and sound effects: The developers listened to the community and currently both are at an extremly satisfying plateau, I would argue, even better than the original. -» Graphics: During first stage you are presented with, what seems to be, the Milky Way in the background...and what comes afterwards doesn't disappoint or could be deemed as lackluster! Playing this jewel you feel like you really are in a fantastic space odissey. Another significant plus is that in all the stages you can always track visually where the opposition shots are coming from, which is a major benefit to acount for, if you played the genre for most of the XXI century. -» Bosses: They get increasingly tougher with maybe the exception of the 4th boss, which from my standpoint, is the hardest. Another argument I would like to make is that none of them is unforgiving, even if a few will require the best effort and preparation you can deliver as a player. -» Replayability: You have an online leaderboard that may help finding others for remote play together, if they use their steam profile ID that is. The quality this game displays is a big factor to return and play it, both as a co-op endeavour or as a solo mission. -» Difficulty: As hard as you may imagine for a shmup but not a bullet hell maze. If you love vertical shmup's you will make it through the 6 phases! Cons -» I am eagerly waiting for the day when the next sequel (Truxton Extreme) is on Steam. SUMMARY: 9/10 Gaming Scale Disclosure: After clearing the main campaign and as I comeback for new sessions or new updates arise by developers, I intend to keep revising this review

My favorite Toaplan shooter. It's a fun shooter with great, though sometimes repetitive, music, and challenging levels. I don't care for the rewind option as the way I hold the Xbox one wireless controller has me occasionally bumping the trigger buttons. I once accidentally "lost" a game be rewinding the whole level. The bundle deal with the complete collection discount is nice, too bad it's not available on GOG as I want the Toaplan shooters on Steam and GOG to support "legal emulation. "
Devs delete discussions about assertive criticism. The difficulty is out whack and wrong. Shame on devs for this.
[Another] elegant weapon of a more civilized age.
Excellent sequel to a great game. I find this one quite a bit more fun than the original. The napalm powerup in particular is feels great to use. Yes it's still a brutal game that doesn't screw around. The first boss in particular is a giant noob trap, where you have to learn exactly what not to do. Change the region to Japan if you want a maximum face pounding. Sound and music could be better. Bitwave acknowledged this issue, so I'll wait for a patch before I discuss this further.
Such a brutal and beautiful shmup, do yourself a favor and pick it up here versus just emulating it, they have really done a fantastic job with this release and you'll need the rewind, slowdown and pause options to learn the ropes;. be warned this game has a thing where if you don't die it keeps getting harder and harder till you do it was a way to get people to put more quarters in but also give those who suck a chance.
great retro game
A tough (Toaplan) Sega old classic
It began with Truxton, and so it must end with Truxton. And Lord Karnage would be pleased with neither effort, let alone the entirety of this collection. The emulation, as always, is choppy and features highly inaccurate instruments. God forbid you play Practice Mode and screw up the samples. Speaking of the extra features, notice how this volume was rushed out in two months and a week compared to the usual six months. This means it's even less feature-complete than usual. And it's still just as broken. Shoutouts to Schrodinger's healthbar returning (not that you can even tell how much health you have with the assist on anyway, despite my complaints since vol 1). Oh and by the way none of the (still broken) hitbox viewers even show a darn thing for the bullets this time, there, further saved you a click. Widescreen mode is as much a broken write-off as always too, don't bother. Look, just...don't buy these ports. You're being lied to.
