Complete Waste of money. Devs abandoned this game in an unfinished form. Few games have as many bugs as this game. Unless this game is offered to you for free I would not ever recommend anyone to buy this game. I would 0/100 stars.
I enjoyed the game, but there are a few things that definitely detract from the experience. + Combat is fun, though it took a couple battles to "get it". + Art is nice, if simplistic ~ Music is decent, but repetitive. ~ Character development is a bit bland ~ Game is a bit short. I put in 12 hours, but could have easily knocked a couple hours off. - The UI handling in combat needed more attention, in terms of both delay and display. I'll leave it at that. - Ending was a bit abrupt. - One of the last quests could have used a clearer indications of where to go. This one actually frustrated me to the point of thinking I'd maybe hit a bug. I think it's worth playing if this type of game is up your alley, but maybe wait for a sale.
*Keep in mind this review is from someone who did NOT experience a bug. Everything about this game was pretty generic. As a long time RPG player I could predict basically everything that was going to happen. If that’s fine with you, then OK. The battle system was OK, I like the general idea of adding cards to your active deck and having some type of randomness of what you can play to keep the combat fresh. I just don’t think the cards themselves-or the characters for that matter-were very interesting. Basically do your attack dmg and buff something. There were no skills to upgrade and a few different pieces of equipment that anyone could equip. I went through the whole game not even really know what the core stats I was gaining on level up did. There were massive difficulty spikes, then you grind a bit and fight the same guys over and over and are OK until the next one. Very uninspiring. As a veteran RPG play this game wasn’t for me. I did end up beating it because it was so short, and I do think the battle system had value. There just wasn’t enough effort put into the game. If you’re new to the genre then by all means give this a try, but I think most players will find this game lacks depth basically everywhere. The price is way too high.
Trulon is a nice little card battler with endearing low-poly visuals. My first thought was the game developers are some Asian dudes with all the foxes and monkeys as opponents but whaddaya know turns out it's a small team from Finland. The story kept me entertained from start to finish. While the game isn't as bug ridden as some reviews make it seem I encountered one game breaking myself. The save mechanism is problematic because if something goes wrong you're stuck with your single save file. So in worst case you lose your progress and have to re-play the whole game up to when the bug occurred. I made backup copies from the single save game at various points of game progression from now on https://i.imgur.com/FamPwZQ.png although I didn't encounter anymore bugs. Trulon retails for around three bucks right now and I recommend playing it.
The game looks okay and has half decent (if not well balanced) game mechanics, but it's buggy - and some bugs are game breaking. I just ran into one and I can't progress any further. Due to the nature of the save system I can't go back so I've just lost the hour and a bit of progress I've made so far. Imagine if that happened after 10 or 12 hours? Combat could go faster if they'd put in an option to display damage/healing/effects on the combat screen instead of going to a skip-able cut-scene (that you have to click each time to skip so combat is a click-fest so you can speed it up a bit. With game breaking bugs I can't recommend this at any price.
I had a great time playing this game. I did not experience any bugs in the comment, nor did I feel that the game was not balanced. I recommend this game.
The game has interesting mechanics and the gameplay with cards can create fun experimentation. The story is simple but good. I can recommend this game only when it is on sale however as it is a little short for such a price. It is a pretty game with nice characters and interesting gameplay but it is a little short. You would expect a longer game for 15 quid.
