Tropico Reloaded

TROPICO 2: PIRATE COVE - однозначно одна из самых любимых стратегий в свое время! Очень нравилась эта пиратская атмосфера! Жаль, что сейчас играть практически нереально! Очень жду полноценный ремейк (мечта)

Only played this for a couple hours so take this with a grain of salt, but these are my thoughts so far. What I like: + The pirate theming, while hardly unique compared to the first game, does help this stick out compared to the rest of the series + Very good atmosphere, I just love all of the jolly pirate vibes + Despite the rebrand, the general feel of Tropico gameplay is intact. Keeping people happy, keeping them fed and alive, most of that stuff is still fun to manage here. What I'm mixed/neutral on: ~ You can only build buildings along roads, it doesn't like break the game but it's a weird choice imo What I don't like: - Maybe understandable given the rebrand, but the economic simulation is much shallower here. Your income comes from raiding (which is mostly RNG) rather than exports and supply chains. As a result the core loop is rather less interesting to engage with Overall thoughts: This is a pretty light thumbs up from me. It's cheap and comes bundled with the first game, so again, it's hard not to get your money's worth with it. But also like with the first game, I would not recommend this to everyone. This game banks heavily on "immersion", if you're not sucked into the atmosphere of the game, it doesn't have a whole lot to offer on its own terms. If you do get sucked in though, it's a good deal of fun! If you're willing to invest heavily into the pirate branding, and are already a fan of these kinds of management simulation games, this could be worth picking up. But otherwise I'd probably point you to most of the other games in the series.
