Chernobyl: Simulator

If you're into realistic simulators and you've always been curious about what it was like to control this beast of a reactor from the operator's point of view, this is a game for you. The flashy marketing does not fairly represent how serious this simulator really is. Still a work in progress with very impressive updates planned, and based on what I have seen so far on the reactor control panel and the detail included, this is the real deal. You can begin to understand for yourself the challenges faced by the operators of this reactor, balancing axial/radial neutron flux distribution across a core this big while staying within the parameters of the safety systems. You'll understand how exactly the operators controlled this reactor via the different automatic control groups such as ARM, AR1, AR2, and LAR/LAZ, and the challenges involved in activating them safely. You'll also see for yourself the impact that a single control rod movement can have on the rest of the core, with even a single manual rod being moved by so much as a meter being able to suppress or enable criticality. One wrong move at the wrong time and you can find yourself trying to stabilize the reactor again for the next 20 minutes while safety system alarms are going off and the safety systems engage. Absolutely would recommend to any geeks or people keen to learn something new and technical.

Ich habe jetzt einige Stunden in Chernobyl: Simulator gesteckt und muss sagen: Das Spiel macht verdammt viel richtig! Die Atmosphäre ist extrem packend, die Detailverliebtheit der Spielwelt ist spürbar und die Kernmechaniken greifen wirklich gut ineinander. Es hat diesen typischen, fesselnden Simulator-Charakter, bei dem man eigentlich nur "kurz" reinschauen will und plötzlich sind drei Stunden um. Man merkt einfach, dass die Entwickler eine klare Vision haben. Ich bin absolut angefixt und freue mich schon riesig auf die kommenden Updates und den weiteren Content, der da noch kommen mag! Allerdings gibt es einen Bereich, bei dem das Spiel den Spieler aktuell noch etwas im Regen stehen lässt: Das Tutorial zu Beginn ist leider eine kleine Baustelle und müsste dringend ausgebaut werden. Der Einstieg ist im Moment etwas holprig geraten. Das größte Problem ist, dass die Anleitung hin und wieder einfach komplett verschwindet oder Textboxen nicht mehr angezeigt werden. Zudem sind manche Erklärungen so vage formuliert, dass man oft ratlos dasitzt und nicht genau versteht, welche Aktion oder welcher Tastendruck jetzt eigentlich von einem erwartet wird. Man ist anfangs gezwungen, viel über Try and Error selbst herauszufinden, was den Spielfluss gerade in den ersten 30 Minuten unnötig ausbremst und Frustpotenzial bietet. Fazit: Sobald man diese erste Hürde überwunden und die Mechaniken einmal verstanden hat, offenbart sich hier ein wirklich gutes und atmosphärisches Spiel, das jedem Simulator-Fan Spaß machen wird. Wenn die Entwickler das Tutorial noch einmal überarbeiten, die Fehler dort ausbügeln und den Einstieg verständlicher gestalten, hat das Spiel das Zeug zu einem echten Hit. Von mir gibt es eine klare Kaufempfehlung – ich bleibe definitiv dran!

I like it, but it was a bit bare bones and the control room isn't finished. If you are interested in Nuclear Power, atleast they got the basics! P.S. Graphics are VERY good.

С удовольствием бы поиграл, если бы мне дали возможность закрыть стартовое окошко где рассказывают про управление. А так, увы, рефанд. Ставлю лайк просто на случай если это я дурак, но вообще я всё перепробовал что мог UPD - Получен ответ от разработчика. Вердикт - я дурак. Нажимаем F и курсор разблокируется.

It's pretty cool but the guide does not cover anything helpful, making it impossible to start, let alone keep the reactor running
