For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

🌴 A Classic That Shows Its Age 🌴 I have great memories of this game from 5–10 years ago. I sunk hours into it, hooked for weeks, playing through the eras from plantations to modern times. 🕰️ Revisiting the Past: Coming back to it now, it definitely feels older and not quite as engaging anymore. I don’t even remember exactly which version I played back then — but I remember it being one of the classics in its genre. 🎭 How You Play Matters: I tend to play as a “good ruler” who tries to do what’s best for the people — but that honestly makes the game feel a bit bland. The real flavor comes out when you lean into the satire, role-playing as an iron-fisted, power-hungry dictator. That’s where the fun and absurdity shine. 👶 Not for Everyone: I’m not sure this one will click with the younger generation — the pacing, style, and engagement feel very old-school. But if you’re into that kind of vibe, and love classic strategy games with personality, it’s still worth a shot. 👍 Final Verdict: A nostalgic classic, but it might not hit the same anymore — unless you embrace the chaos.

I am a happy dictator, so my citizens MUST be happy as well.

• Te obliga a pensar, no solo a optimizar números. ⸻ 📝 REVIEW IN ENGLISH 🔶 Governing well isn’t always an option when power is the real goal. ⸻ I usually try to make my Steam reviews go beyond graphics or gameplay. I care about what a game makes you think while playing it — and Tropico 5 did something unexpected to me. At first, Tropico 5 presents itself as a humorous dictator simulator. But the longer you play, the more that mask falls apart. The game doesn’t really ask you to choose between people’s well-being and absolute power — it pushes you toward power. I tried to do good, to take care of my people, but the system itself slowly drags you into control, fear, and accumulation. That realism is what makes it uncomfortable. You’re treated like a god, you can erase political opposition, make people “disappear,” live like a king with Swiss bank accounts… and suddenly it doesn’t feel exaggerated anymore when you think about real-world examples: Venezuela, Cuba, North Korea, several African countries, and others where these kinds of atrocities are part of everyday reality under the excuse of “the greater good.” That’s where I stopped enjoying it. Not because the game failed, but because I understood what it was asking of me. 🔸 FINAL SCORE: 6/10 Thought-provoking, uncomfortable, and a bit too real to keep playing.
