Tropia is a nes style, turn based jrpg. If you find yourself thinking, "I'd love to play a game almost just like the original Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy games, but I already beat those games", then this is the game for you.

It helps a lot! Thanks!
Tropia is an RPG game that is guaranteed to bring you the old feel of Nintendo/Famicom style graphic presentation. Everything about it reminds me of the games I played back when my Nintendo was busy working away at various Dragon Warrior, Final Fantasy, and it even has some things that remind me of Zelda 1, among other games from back in simpler times for gaming. The music is right on par as well, and everything about it is a total work of love and nostalgia, completely bringing one back to those times when 8-bit gaming was supreme. There was a lot to like, a few gripes, and overall this game should probably get a bit more attention for the ability to connect one to times of old, while having its own uniqueness involved as well, as far as some of the bonus content and a few other little features I quite enjoyed on the overall level, making this a nice choice for anyone who loved this era of gaming, or just somebody interested in checking out what the scene was like back then without using an emulator or something similar.
Pros
The characters, setting, and graphics are all very sentimental for me. Reminds me of NES games I played that were RPG genre. The dungeons were all pretty fun for me, and there are a few bonus features you can do to unlock extras you wouldn’t get just following the main story. The map is fairly nice. Shows *almost* every spot, aside from a couple. Characters all have strengths and weaknesses, so it feels reasonably balanced if you don’t over-level too much. At first felt difficult, but got easier as I went along, learned more skills, got more gear, gold, items and so forth. A fair amount of spoils for the length of the game. While the main theme behind it was relatively similar to another game or two from that era, the game was done well. All the parts in it that were executed felt very retro, and without knowing, I’d think it was a Nintendo game I missed from those times. The bonus material was challenging at first, but later on after I finished a few special zones and unlocks, it was definitely not too tough with the added help, so it became considerably less balanced with that along with any extra levels one wanted to grind up through. You didn’t need a whole lot to finish the main story and side stuff though once you had enough abilities and healing items to take them on in a battle of attrition. Each character has some interesting passive abilities, or combat abilities, opening up the game for more loot, or special areas that are otherwise impossible to find. Nice bits of humor in the game here and there. Made it more enjoyable when those bits came up.
Cons
I wanted this to last a bit longer. Kind of short. I finished most of it within about five or six hours. Still not too bad even at asking price. To get the level 99 achievement, which is tedious, it takes maybe double that to about twelve hours or so. Confusing as to where to go. There isn’t much in the way of a story along the way. I would have liked some character interaction, as there really wasn’t much, aside from people talking in towns. The beginning and end game parts tied some together, but it wasn’t really as captivating as I would have liked. I didn’t like a system of replacing gear to match dungeons and help make enemy attacks in said dungeons less effective. Kind of wish this was different, since the pieces were not really progressively better aside from raising resistances in said dungeons. At higher levels it made little difference. Kind of the same thing with each dungeon. Fairly short, a boss guarding some stuff, and your items needed to collect all of in a series to keep the story moving. Some dungeons had some neat things, neat concepts, and so forth. Just only a few rooms per area, and not many enemies in general. Typo on an achievement that should be fixed in one. Says “word” and should say “world”. Also one more with a villager in a desert town that says temple’s instead of temples. Level 99 achievement was quite boring, and I had no reason to do it. Already had completed everything else long before, so this felt unnecessary and quite grindy.
Conclusion
Took me a while to get to this review, but this was a really nice game overall. If you want a classic feel that reminds you of Nintendo RPG games from the past, this one is an excellent choice. Good price, a few secrets and some extra abilities to top it off. Nice bonus stuff, though small. It’s short, and the achievement grind to 99 is not fun if you beat the game and its bonus stuff at around the mid 40’s or so in level, as I did. All in all, I give this one a really confident thumbs up. Anyone who likes the old 8-bit Nintendo feels and style will more likely than not have a good amount of fun playing this. What it may lack from my cons list, it makes up for in overall impact and nostalgia, paying great tribute to games of the NES era. A nice ode to classic RPGs. Worth every ounce of time you get out of it. Well… that 99 thing. Yuck. But otherwise, for the main game, definitely one I had a lot of fun playing through. A true hidden gem for fans of the 80’s and early 90’s RPGs. It feels like it’s crafted with heart and care, and I can’t think of much that’s closer to feeling like an old classic RPG than this one. Very nice work. Highly recommended!
Great pixelart sprites and brilliant chiptune music. Everything about this screams final fantasy 1. There are a fair few unpolished things and rough edges in the user interface though and it's hard for me to recommend the game or not considering I have no idea how many hours of playtime there is in here. If it's a really short game then I'd have to say no but if it's long I'd say yes.
This game is a great 8-bit style game calling back to games like the original Final Fantasy. It tells you once what you need to do and then lets you do it how you want. That kind of freedom is nice, no one needs their hands held in a JRPG like this. The story is good for an 8-bit style game like this. The music is very catchy and very chiptune, it's very much like old school Dragon Quest with the music. A cool mechanic in this game is the ability to switch characters with a button push. This can let you open lock doors, push items around, and even find hidden doors. All in all this game is a really good game. The creators put a lot of time and effort into the game and it shows. It's easily a 9/10. For an Indie game it does what it does well. I can't wait to see what they make next.
6 hours of gameplay, what do I think? Well the game is described as being things you have seen before. NES style graphics, Dragon Quest/Final Fantasy inspired gameplay. Chiptune music. And full of all the tropes we've seen in RPGs since the old days. The game does this very well by providing a mixture of everything we've seen before, and providing the developer's own brand of humor and creativity into the mix. The game is straight-forward, easy to figure out, and is rather catchy. The story is simple, but then we don't need a complicated plot in a game now do we? Overall, the game does a good job of being what it is -- the game you want to play when you need an NES fix without playing something you played before. If there are any knocks I have to the game, I wish the thief character was at least described somewhere even briefly (he doesn't seem to have any dialogue lines either... I'd have expected that with the wizard) and the power spikes can be a bit awkward if you are a total RPG newbie. For $3.99 USD you are getting your money's worth, you'll enjoy a playthough of it over a weekend or during your workweek for an hour or so a night. I do recommend it as it is enjoyable and the overall difficulty is palatable. If you want to see more, I have a video on Youtube that shows off a decent part of the first part of the game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBB7oI5ecyk
It's reminiscent of dragon quest 1 for sure. A cute little quick rpg for when you don't want to get into the modern 1000 hour drags.
I DIDN'T GET TO PLAY, IT WOULDN'T GO PAST THE NAME SCREEN FOR ME.
Gioco molto carino ispirato ai primissimi Final Fantasy/Dragon Quest. Grafica 8 Bit in stile NES riproposta davvero in maniera efficiente e genuina. Promosso!
Enjoyable retro NES style RPG. It's not too long and doesn't require too much grinding.

If, for some reason, you couldn't get enough Final Fantasy 1, this is the game for you. Literally exactly like the game description says: [If you find yourself thinking, "I'd love to play a game almost just like the original Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy games, but I already beat those games", then this is the game for you.] I can't put it into any better words than that. Keep in mind that it is a bit of a parody, considering the name Tropia.
