Tronix Defender is a retro styled Tower Defence game where you must protect your CPU from hack-bots and trojans inside a digital world. The levels are partially randomised for maximised replay-ability and the game is enhanced by a killer Synthwave soundscape created by TimeSlave Recordings.

(I WAS GIVEN THIS GAME FOR FREE BY ITS MAKER) Ignore the time, it took some finaggling on my computer to get it to play, and I played for a few hours. I've 100%'d SEVERAL tower defense games here on steam, and unfortunately this one is not yet ready to join their ranks. 1. The tutorial really needs work. "Here's a couple of things" then it LITERALLY tells you to just figure the rest out yourself. This normally wouldn't bother me, but as this game does not operate by traditional TD game rules, this is not acceptable. 2. I tried the same level perhaps a dozen times, and each time my starting poisition, available resource spots, enemy varieties and more seemed to randomly change. You CANNOT balance a TD game this complex and unforgiving doing this. Level 3 of 12 should still be teaching you the game, not smooshing you. 3. Killing enemies does not award currency/energy. Though, I'm really not sure what does. I sat back for minutes at a time, recieving no energy to build more stuff whatsoever--- only to have my reserves max wildly out very suddenly and I just build a hundred things and upgrade them all any which way I please. This is either a breath-taking glitch in the coding, or some of the stuff that the game tells us to "figure out" is not so easily surmised. 4. What is the landscape I'm looking at? Everything is vying for my attention: zodiac signs and skulls, computer symbols and other trash that really may as well be rocks of the landscape or something. If they are barriers that are all colored the same they need to look the same, otherwise it confuses my eyes and I can't tell what is important since, well, the game won't tell me! 5. Temperature. Yes. Yes, this is a good idea. You're supposed to be protecting your PC from invasion, that's neat that you must balance your weaponized PC parts with your ability to keep your computer cool enough to function. This is a great idea for a mechanic and it shouldn't budge an inch. However, I was constantly mixing up "coolers" and "icers", as one slows enemies and the other cools my computer, often costing me the level. Speaking of levels. They are way, way, WAYYY too big given how little currency we are given to build. Enemies can dart off in any odd direction, circumvent the whole map and all of your defenses and just kill you with no chance for you to defend yourself. Game over. A level the size of a tennis court would do but it gives us a professional football field to worry about. Size it down, trim the fat! Focus on what makes the game fun, not one how big you can make your landscapes! I understand that this is probably someone's baby and someone's first step into gaming creation, but it needs SERIOUS work before its creator starts asking for money for it. TL:DR 1. The tutorial says "just figure it out!" 2. Killing enemies does not award building currency. (what DOES? I never found out!) 3. Starting position, enemy types and available building space are all random. 4. The "cooling" mechanic is great! 5. The random symbols and signs and "set dressing" are really, really distracting. 6. The boards are all huge, overly complex mazes that are FAR too large for what the game needs.
I love the game. It is a very well made super fast tower defense game. The game is so fast you cannot even sneeze while you play. It is a revolution in tower defense games and I hope to see more games by the developer. It does take a while to understand the game dynamics thoroughly but it is well worth the time since you get hours and hours of addicting action from the game. I just cannot stop playing it. And the retro graphics are amazing. Thumbs up, the best 5 € I spent this year!!!
Tronix Defnder isa blast from the past. Retro gfx but with a modern twist. Very enjoyable game
It not bad, but that does not make it good ether. +Music +Interface is simple, intuitive. +Graphicstyle. +Huge maps +Nice new heat mechanics.. -limited towers, 5 utileties towers and 4 damage typed towers -limited upgrades on towers. some only have one ad most 3 tiers (no braching upgrades) -unloking only diferend modes. -quite slow. no speed settings. -no clue what differend enemies do.. -Fairly simple if you know your basic TD verdict, Not a bad game, but it feels kind of unfinished due to the lack of depth. Sertainly if you are used to games like Gemcraft chasing shadows, kingdom rush or defence grid that also are sold in the same price range. But still its not a bad game.
Not a bad Tower Defence - a bit crazy at first - you need to get to known how it works - but then its great fun. Challenging and certainly fun to play but quite a clunky UI for me.
