Trizeal was initially launched in 2004 for Arcade (Sega Naomi board), in 2005 for the Dreamcast in Japan, in 2006 for the Playstation 2 in Japan and in 2009 for Xbox 360 as part of "Shooting Love 200X" collection, which brought together beyond this game other three: "Shmups Skill Test", "Minus Zero" and "Exzeal", all of them developed by Triangle Service (japanese developer founded by a former employee of Konami) and now in 2016 this game finally comes to Steam at the hands of Degica, publisher that has been noted for bring to the Steam (and thus to the whole world) many shmups (acronym for shoot' em up aka STG) previously restricted only to Japan. Trizeal Remix is a beautiful vertical shmup with a fun and well balanced gameplay, where the player's ship at the touch of a button can be transformed into three different modes: [Wide], where the field of shots is wide, making it easier to hit multiple enemies; [Missile] where guided missiles are fired at enemies, being useful to hit enemies out of the ship's front range [laser] fires a direct and focused beam and is the most powerful shooting and consequently indicated to defeat enemies faster. During the game, you will collect some "orbs" that allow the upgrade of weapons, at the point of being possible to mix into a certain transformation the characteristics of another, for example, missiles with shot wide, laser with shot wide and etc., making the gameplay very interesting. Trizeal's graphics were pretty good for its time and are still pleasant even today. The game's soundtrack is nice and very pleasant to hear. The controls respond well to commands (I used the official wireless Xbox 360 controller through the analog stick). The player can save replays of matches and the game also has an online leaderboard very good where you can watch the replay of other players inside the leaderboard, something always useful for those who want to know and learn the patterns and techniques used by the best players. Trizeal Remix is a nice game that combines good graphics, pretty soundtrack, and fun enjoyable gameplay.
very good . ★★★★★⭐
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=829702581
Every ****Zeal game gets better and better with each sequel. 3 credit play still, still a little annoying, but at least there is an easy setting for us casual shmup fans. Most definitely bullet hell and does a pretty good job with it too. Looks and plays great on my ultrawide, scaling is perfect, huge plus in my books. This one may only be 720P, but it does a really nice job of it. The graphics and game style reminds me so much of Raystorm for the PS1 or Raiden III, for myself, thats nice trip down memory lane. Very interesting concept of being able to choose your shot style, lasers, wide bullets or guided missiles, with just a press of a button. But like all shmups like this one, you still have to pick up powerups to level up your shot. Its not ground breaking, but its got good value if you love shmups, well worth the asking price.
It's my favorite shmup of the series (and of the collection). The transformable ship really makes the gameplay more frantic, fun and tactical. Altough, i'd like to make a clarification. There are more than one ship:
P1 Ship (red):
This is the standard ship in Trizeal.
P2 Ship (yellow):
To play with this ship, use the controller on the 2P side. The ship on the 2P side differs slightly from the standard ship. It moves a little faster, which can be very useful in the dreaded rotating turrets section of stage 5 (more on that later) and, more generally, when trying to keep your medal chain going. However, it also has some disadvantages. Its laser weapon is a lot narrower than the one of the P1 ship, which forces you to aim more precisely. The wide shot spreads a little wider, which makes it more difficult to point blank enemies. Also, since the 2P ship has a smaller wingspan than the 1P ship in most of its transformation states, it's a little bit more difficult to pick up medals, because you can't just collect them with the tips of your wings. The hitbox for collision detection concerning enemies and bullets seems to be the same as with the 1P ship, though, so no worries.
P1 XIIStag Ship (blue):
To play with this ship, press right, left, left and 12 times the shot button at the title screen of the selected mode.
P2 XIIStag Ship (orange):
Same as the blue one, also a little faster.
This is a great game that should please most fans of the genre. The game appears simple on the surface but there is lots of depth that slowly reveals itself upon repeated plays. The power up system allows for lots of customization and the stages offer branching paths that open up harder routes for good players. While the scoring system is a much overused chaining system, it 's a rush to build up the medal value and rack up tons of points. This is a very fun game and it's worth every penny to shooter fans.
I find the Zeal series to be fairly mediocre, but charming. Of all the games in the series, I was surprised to find I liked Trizeal the most. The gimmick of swapping your weapons is not mindblowing nor is it amazingly implemented, but it is just oldschool fun. I feel like the level design in this is Triangle Service at their best. Xiizeal is good too, for the record.
5/10
I liked the first two games in this series, but Trizeal sucks horribly. Distracting backgrounds, things floating around that look exactly like bullets, frame skipping, general ugliness, unreactive controls, and the switching between shot types gimmick doesn't really do much. I was bored for a the first few minutes, then I was frustrated, and now I don't even want to try Exzeal. This developer seems to have gotten worse over time, rather than improving.
