Triton Survival

In this video I take a look at Triton Survival a first person portal defense and crafting game. This is quite a well made title and it's really fun to play. You need to protect your portals from waves of alien invasions. You can harvest resources to create defenses while trying to keep your life support going by producing oxygen, water, and food. When you feel you are ready you start the wave of invaders and do battle. When you get advanced enough you can travel through the portal to another world where the action begins again. I was pleasantly impressed with what it offered and even had a laugh at the little aliens with the bows on their heads, of course I had to kill them for food but they were cute. This game has all the hallmarks of a good (and fresh) survival game are there. Interesting craftables, survival stats (hunger, oxygen) a great system where you verse a wave of aliens and of course base building. However the barebones nature of this game means a lot of these mechanics are flawed, resource gathering is long and has little reward, base building is still in its infancy and so all it's really for is bottle-necking aliens. and the fighting mechanics only include one gun at the moment. I can see these mechanics getting fleshed out to make a really fun game (think almost open world dungeon defenders with 7 days to die style building) but as it stands in early access I can't recommend it. (That being said the devs seem really open to criticism and hopefully given enough time and support they can get the bugs fixed and implement features to get this game going)

At the moment of writing this, the game is in pre-alpha, meaning its very bare bone. Don't expect to play as much as testing. Lots of bugs, graphics are very minimal, controls work but clunky. That said, the dev is quick to respond and after submitting bugs on the forum, they came back with patches within 48h. It is an Early Access after all. The concept is there but the execution will need a lot more time. Other game come in EA close to a finish product, this is not the case. I will give this a thumbs up, because so far the dev is behind its product and the pricing is fair. But be aware that you are participating in its development and if you want the game to be better you have to give feedback.

Game has potential. It has its bugs but this isnt a final review. Just came to ask devs where i go to inform them of bugs.

αすぎる…とりあえず買った人向けに まず素手で殴ることで資源採集できます。 水はまずクォーツを集めて 空のタンクを作って 作ったタンクをアイテム欄に登録して、水の上で使用することで汚い水を手に入れることができます。 その後カーボンを集めて浄化剤を制作して 汚い水と浄化剤２つできれいな水が作れます。 そのまま飲んでもいいし、分解して酸素補給に使ったりもできるみたいです。 まだ始まったばかりなので何もかも粗削りです。そこのとこに気を付けて購入してください。

TLDR Avoid this; Seems abandoned; Buggy mess Seems to be abandoned but even if that wasn't the case it has many issues, such as objectives not completing ( I couldn't even get past the tutorial quests because of this). In-game options menu will disappear on you. All text was very small for me even on different resolutions, there is no resize option at all, but if you get past that then you get to deal with the brightness that apparently is meant to blind you anyways unless the dev just turns their monitors brightness way way way down? As mentioned the tutorial quests are messed up, assuming you can read it anyways it wants things that (as a new player to the game) wouldn't even know what it is, I.E you must get iron but it gives no indication as to what counts as iron in this, I did find copper but that was Gold in color so you see my meaning. Plenty more to go on about but not worth the effort

Técnicamente, las físicas de movimiento de los personajes y los efectos de iluminación durante los tiroteos nocturnos añaden espectacularidad visual. El diseño de las hordas enemigas, compuestas por criaturas biomecánicas e insectoides, logra transmitir una constante sensación de amenaza que obliga al usuario a utilizar estructuras elevadas para mantener una ventaja táctica. [h2]Farmeos y el Desafíos[/h2] Desde una perspectiva más técnica y crítica, el punto donde Triton Survival puede generar cierta fatiga es en la cantidad de recolección de materiales (grind) requerida para acceder a las tecnologías de defensa más avanzadas. Jugarlo en solitario eleva el nivel de exigencia de forma drástica, haciendo que la recolección y la reparación de muros consuman gran parte del tiempo entre oleadas. [h2]CONCLUSIÓN[/h2] Triton Survival es una propuesta muy atractiva para los entusiastas de la ciencia ficción que buscan una mezcla equilibrada entre disparos en tercera persona y mecánicas de tower defense. Brilla en la fluidez de su combate y en la satisfacción que genera ver una red de torretas bien planificada destrozar a las hordas enemigas. A pesar de que la recolección puede volverse un tanto repetitiva a mediano plazo y sus mecánicas en solitario requieren paciencia, ofrece una experiencia de acción defensiva sumamente sólida y entretenida en Steam. This is very early in the early access period so the gameplay/mechanics are pretty primitive, but the idea seems like it will be fun as things are refined. It looks like they're going for a combination of survival/crafting, shooter, and tower defense type of games. Personally I do not like 3rd person view for shooter games, I find it disorienting. I hope they will add a 1st person option in the future.

At the moment Triton Survival shows a lot of promise, but as yet isn't delivering much of an experience. The developers seem to be regularly adding to it, so the future looks promising. But if you want to spend your money and get anything above bare bones, then hold off for a while to purchase Triton Survival. However if survival games are kind of your thing, as is sci-fi, and you want to help steer the game in a direction you'd like to see a game go, then grab a copy, give some feedback and wait for the waves of aliens to roll in.
