In all honesty the game is good for still being early access but there are a few areas that need to be worked on. Honestly my main issue is the lack of proper cutscene animations in the prologue where you wake up, the officer (i think that's what he is) doesn't move his mouth at all, they also just kind of stare at you and don't really do much. But other than that I feel like this game has so much potential and I cannot wait to see where this goes. I've always loved the look and feel of Ww1 and I'm so excited that this is a game that (while still being worked on by a single developer) looks and feels amazing,
This can be a great game in WW1 style. Hopefully will be coocked without haste and with propper polishing. Wish this comes out on par with LoTF 2.5 (after all the fixes and updates)
This game has a lot of potential, and what’s here now is definitely worth trying out. For EA games on Steam, the quality of the development teams can be just as important as the content that’s made available. The dev for this game is extremely active, and readily asks for feedback from players in the Discord. Definitely a step above most EA titles on here. Buy the game, join the Discord, help support getting this to 1.0.
This game is DIGITAL ART, i would say is even is a POTENTIAL GEM, lets give to the dev the help that he needs to keep updating this MASTER PIECE, PROST! 🍺
Yes, this game at this moment in time is not great. But its potential most definitely is! I was a little confused at first by what the game was trying to be, until it became evident it's a souls-like game with a WW1 aesthetic (just aesthetic though; the universe is otherwise fictional). It's certainly unique though I personally would have preferred toning down the fantasy elements, and just putting more emphasis on the war aspects. IMO those alone are what really makes this early access title stick out. That aside, the game is still surprisingly enticing for what it is. The world is compelling to explore, with much detail put into the environments. The trenches are very grimy, and there's no shortage of guts and corpses. The combat is solid, with each gun packing a different punch while not being too clunky to control. Thankfully, it was scarce enough not to hinder the exploration, but regular enough not to be lifeless. Despite its positive aspects, it's still very much early access. While relatively playable, it's confusing and broken to a significant degree. Navigation is often hindered by the map's unexplored fog always reseting upon each game reload (though at least the save shrines and objective markers do not). Glitches, such as the mouse cursor not disappearing after NPC conversations, are fairly frequent. The sound and ambience also feels quite unbalanced, making one feel like there's a lot going on in an environment where there is really nothing there. Enemies also are easily alerted by the player when they themselves are far away and barely visible, which makes stealth and tactics basically impossible for now. Also, does the Skills tab even work?? Despite being pretty rough around the edges, I am enjoying the experience so far. A souls-like war setting is honestly something I've always wanted, and sprinkling it with hellish muddy WW1 atmosphere was a terrific idea. I really hope the Devs commit to this, because if done right this could become something truly special!
