Ok, mom, firstly, you need to understand that this isn't porn, all right? It's called "hentai". Yes, that's a Japanese phrase, I'm learning Japanese from these videos. Before I get to the part about learning Japanese, though, let me first comment on the cultural implications of hentai. After the second world war, which Japan lost after the nuclear bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the entire country underwent a period of self-reflection and soul-searching. They wanted to understand how events led to the rest of the world responding with such devastating atomic attacks. This led to a strong antipathy towards war-mongering and international aggression. You may have heard about how the Japanese constitution doesn't allow the country to have an active military. Same idea. A lot of post-war Japanese culture is a reflection of such attitudes. For example, the Godzilla movies are not just about giant monsters fighting each other. They're about the horrors of unbridled atomic technology (Godzilla's always depicted as being powered by or healed by nuclear power), and how such a terrifying force can never be allowed to be unleashed on humanity again. On a similar note, Japanese animation enjoyed a resurgence of popularity after the war, due to the populace choosing to turn towards the comforting images of their youth. Japanese kids, much like kids in our country, like to watch cartoons. As a result, psychologically speaking, cartoons represent a reminder of a simpler and more innocent age. This upsurge in popularity resulted in animated images pervading almost all of Japanese culture: from movies, to television, to advertising, to music videos, and so on and so forth. And because animated images were so widely accepted throughout Japan, they were used for almost every type of source material, or to tell any type of story. Animation was no longer the sole domain of children. You got animated movies that told very mature stories, like Ghost in the Machine or Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. Sometimes you get stories that involve very mature topics, like war, or murder, or rape, or torture. The Japanese have generally become quite accustomed seeing depictions of such things in their animations. So yeah, that's why I was watching this movie. It's an epic tale about a space crew exploring a distant planet (the crew's all female, because Japan's very into gender equality), and they run into a hostile alien, with a bunch of tentacles... and... well... I don't want to spoil the story for you, but let's just say the crew eventually figure out how to get along with the alien. It's a story about bridging cultural gaps and finding common ground. Seriously, it's worth watching. Ok, next, you remember how I talked about knowing Japanese words and phrases now? It's because these movies are subtitled in English, so I can learn Japanese while watching them. I mean, I know words like yamete, and iie, and iigu, and lots of others. Much better than just knowing konichiwa, isn't it? I mean, I'm developing such an interest in hentai that I might just major in Japanese when I'm in college. Who knows, I might be the one writing the subtitles in the future. Oh, and one last thing, you should know that hentai's considered pretty mainstream in Japan now, and it's also quite common in the western world too now. Everyone's watching it. I mean, if I don't watch it, I'll be seen as some sort of freak at school. You don't want your son to be some kind of pariah because he doesn't watch hentai, do you?

Oh boy, this is an abject lesson in why you should never make purchases while you're coom-brained. I'm bisexual and I love femboys and trans girls so this was like perfect bait for me, even though I had a sneaking suspicion I'd be disappointed. And I was right. First off, I must warn you that, even if you use the lewd patch, all of the peepees and bussies are still pixelated, which absolutely sucks. Huge bummer and if I had known that ahead of time, I would not have purchased. Second, the reason I only played 25 minutes is because, after 10 minutes of listening to and reading the trite, irritating story, I smashed that fast-forward button and only stopped when a "sex scene" popped up (more on that in a moment). I can't imagine sitting through this game for the 2 hours or so it would probably take in real time. And even if I could, that's certainly not worth full price for this game, since there is ZERO replay value. And I can't stress this enough: the story is trash. Wacky harem hijinks with a shallow protagonist whose face you never see and whom you never actually make choices for. The "plot" is as cliche as it gets (shrine maidens, sealed demon, cursed sword, blah blah blah). I feel like I lost nothing by watching the dialogue zip by at lightning speed. Back to that lack of choice thing: some VNs make an attempt to give you the illusion of choice by giving you dialogue options, but not here. There's no interaction or gameplay at all. And even if you like the story, I defy anyone to not get annoyed by the 2 or 3 audio tracks that just loop in and out endlessly as the story goes on. "But what about the sex scenes?! That's all I care about." Even putting aside the awful pixelation with the patch, the lewd parts are incredibly dry and boring. There's not even a bit of animation or interaction, just the characters describing everything in page after page of boring dialogue, until finally the screen flashes, they make some sex sounds, and the guy shoots his wad. Don't get me wrong, the characters are extremely cute and the artwork is great, but you'd be better off just googling femboy/trans/trap porn and calling it a day, rather than endure all the tedious buildup. There's not even that many good scenes, and most of them are crammed into the end (no pun intended...well okay, maybe intended). This is a big waste of time and we deserve much better queer hentai games.

Artwork and story is not bad but runs on the kind of average side of things. If you go in not expecting award winning writing/dialogue you will enjoy this, especially with the 18+ patch. 😈

First of all, the base game on Steam is censored, so you will need to download the 18+ patch elsewhere then put it directly in the game files to unlock the NSFW scenes. Trap Legend is the 2nd game in the Trap trilogy visual novels, I shouldn't have to say this but this game has traps (feminine looking males) and it is in fact gay. Anyway enough of my jesting and I'll tell you what are some good things and some things that got on my nerves. The Goodies: * Art Style - Use your eyes, those are some sexy shrine maidens and fox goddesses. * Characters - Introduces another set of an ancient goddess and a yandere(?) shrine maiden to add to your bussy collection. * Voice Acting - Makes the NSFW even hotter and another reason to use a headset. * Translation/Writing - The English translation is comprehensible and there is only a few grammar mistakes. Also, the writing can be very humorous while reserving some room for the emotional stuff (which is admittedly brief). * NSFW Content - I'm pretty sure that it is one of the few reasons why you even looked at the game and it is worth it (even though the download for the patch is painfully slow). The Negligible Bad Stuff: * Dumbass Protagonist - I know that this game emphasize a lot on the smexy stuff, but I can't help but face palm whenever our guy has to interact with the new characters. This is because [spoiler]he is already married to Yui and Mishiro from the first game, so technically this is infidelity[/spoiler]. * No Backstepping - This means that once you click through a scene, you cannot go back because it will just bring up a log of previously said text. But this can be negated by saving at certain sections as they go. I would recommend you get this game, especially if it's on sale and/or you're into high quality trap content. I'm gonna head over to the final game, Trap Genesis, and I'll let ya know if it's decent. Have a nice one my dudes.
