TRANSFORMERS: Galactic Trials

I never felt the need for a Transformers racing game... but that was before I played Galactic Trials. The way the racing and on-foot obstacle courses blend and complement each other now makes me wonder why this wasn't done sooner. Completing challenges and levelling up characters really adds to this game. Presentation wise things fall down a little bit, because after a trial or championship, there isn't any podium or celebration screen like you'd expect from most racing games. However, the game simply looks fantastic, with every bot looking spot on. On the Decepticon side, you get Megatron, Soundwave, and Shockwave, but beyond them the rest of the Decepticons available are questionable, especially with the absence of Starscream. The music and sound is good, with the voice casting rangers from amazing with Megatron, Soundwave, and Shockwave sounding absolutely perfect, then to a good Bumblebee then a not quite right Wheeljack, to being outright disappointed by an Optimus Prime that just doesn't have that prominent, commanding voice you come to expect, making me wish they would re-cast him. As a whole, it's been worth it, and I'm glad I didn't pass this one by. Fingers crossed we'll see more added to it with updates or DLC down the road.

Basic, but hits the spot after a hard day or when you're bored on the weekend. The price is a bit high in my opinion—I only picked it up because I'm a fan. Overall, though, I'd give it a solid 7/10

Extremely fun racing game with lots of different load outs to try and weapons to unlock. There's only eight characters sadly but they are each very fun to play with and feel the way they handle differently and their different skills/abilites and such. I did get this when it was on sale but even at full price I would say it's a fun game worth the experience and excited to try the multiplayer mode with a friend someday.

Like most people I don't recommend for full price, just wait until it's on sale. Otherwise I personally love it! I enjoy silly racing games like Mario Kart and Cars 2 and this is very similar. It's also just fun as a fan being able to play as the characters. I enjoy having something quick to play when I don't have a ton of time and that I don't get as distracted with (like an open world game). TLDR, I am a simple person and I love this game.

It's an okay game for what it is: An arcade racing game with some gimmicky mini-combat sections. The driving is average but the courses are cool. The reason I am not recommending this is due to the price. They are asking $40 USD for what feels like a free-to-play mobile game. I feel like I paid too much even with the massive discount I got on it. What disappoints me more than the price is the fact that, as of 2026, this is 1 of the only 2 Transformers games on Steam. I don't think we will ever get anything to match War/Fall of Cybertron, but I hope we get something better than this...
