about two hours into the game, in act 2. I am really quite enjoying the game so far. I love when I dont know what to expect will happen next in a game. it's chaotic, in a fun and good way. Already met plenty of whimsical characters so far, and you can pet almost all the animals encountered in the game!! And there are CAPYBARAs yaaaay!!! Going to continue playing the game until I finish it. I am guessing there are 3 acts? I havent played many LGBTQ+ focused games before, and I am really enjoying this one. Feeling quite represented too. As the game says, GG! ( Gender Gladness!)

I have no idea how to describe this game other than that I can't stop smiling while playing it. It's witty, it's fun, it's surprising, it fills me with gender gladness, and now I know how to make a perfect pancake. 10/10

Trans Theft Horso is an absolutely delightful narrative adventure - a hilarious, poignant, very savvy and [i]very[/i] queer western epic, with a lot of heart and a lot to say. I feel like the (excellent) title tells you all you need to know about the game's themes, and the (excellent) trailer tells you all you need to know about the game's tone. As non-binary anti-hero Adric Belfonté, you journey across a surreal wild-west-like region in pursuit of queer joy and the undoing of various hateful and/or petty authoritarian figures. There's a wide range of funny, well-written characters to help or hinder as appropriate along the way - compelling major players and weird one-scene idiots alike - and the sprawling and fearsome West (revered enough to earn an in-universe capitalisation) proves a much deeper and more textured setting than the game initially implies, with the knockabout early plot gradually giving way to honest-to-goodness political intrigue. The tone alternates between dryly witty and explosively silly throughout, but there are some moments of real pathos and real satirical bite in the mix too. Which is an impressive feat for a game in which your main conversational partner is a skunk you wear as a hat. The gameplay is essentially a gentle stroll from one offbeat encounter to the next. The story itself is fairly linear (though completing a certain sequence of events can unlock a chunky epilogue scene), but exploration is very much encouraged, and like the dev's first game Buy Hyacinths, there's an enormous amount of hidden dialogue, worldbuilding and flavour text squirreled away wherever you care to look. Some of your accomplishments are marked with an in-game counter, and others are simply there to be enjoyed. Combat plays out as a striking first-person RPG-style sequence, and is evidently intended more as a narrative device than as a gameplay hurdle to clear; the plot continues whether you win or lose any given fight, with Adric either surprised that they won or very willing to admit they're terrible at fighting. There's also a hunt for trading cards featuring factoids on the game's cast, and a glut of bizarre minigames that tend to pop up when you least expect them - often at moments when 'oh, there's a minigame for this' is a great joke in itself. (Speaking of which - the game's second act contains possibly the best recruitment scene for an optional party member that I've ever seen.) The artwork is lovingly handcrafted throughout, and brings a tremendous sense of warmth to the game; there's a wide range of extremely characterful sprites and environments, as well as a surprising amount of illustrated combat sequences and full-screen cutscenes. And special mention must go to the lush (and incredibly inventive) soundtrack, also composed by the developer. In terms of both visuals and music, each act very much has its own feel. I beta-tested Trans Theft Horso prior to release (so my playtime for the Steam version is currently quite low), and I really can't recommend it enough! A real labour of love from a solo developer with an impressive range of strings to their bow.

Full of queer joy from the word go. It's like a beautiful home-made cake, or a scrapbook of memories from your best friend. The trailer may be the catchiest song ever, and the whole gambe is stuffed full of delightful tunes and quotes for the ages. Queer nerds who like books and silliness will love this ~

Not sure I've played anything quite like this before. Its certainly not a point and click adventure game like I was expecting. The closest thing I can compare it to would be a RPG Maker type of game but take out most of RPG mechanics. Pros - Good pixel art and character designs. - Weird world full of wacky characters - Good story very charming very surreal and silly at times. - Great soundtrack, reminded my a bit of monty python Cons - The mouse support is really finicky. In fairness the game technically doesn't say it supports mouse but then it works 90 percent of the time so Its just kind of odd. Overall highly recommended.

said a lot, most of which was either funny or important or meaningful, sometimes multiple of these. support queer games. the story is a comedy of more or less silly errors. it holds up well enough. leaves a fair bit of things un- or poorly explained tho. i kinda liked it, but you might not. (or maybe i just didn't get them. who knows.) will definitely do a second playthrough if we get achievements. and will do so gladly. the hat-skunk is my favorite character by far. she is the best. thanks for creating this <3
