Super interesting take on the original story it's inspired by, It's a very short game but I think the story telling is well done and I would definitely recommend getting all the endings for it, including the secret fourth one which is think adds a lot more to the story of the first three. Only downside is I think having a secret ending which triggers after interacting with something a random number of times is kind of annoying ( took me about 20< times). Other than that all the other endings are fairly easy to get and offer a different perspective on the story each time which makes them actually fun to get even though the gameplay loop doesn't change much. The imagery the game has to offer is also super well done and you'll most likely enjoy it if you are interested on how fungi work. Overall even though the game is extremely short it does a great job at offering a unique horror experience and it's 100% worth getting it for the price it is.
This game is very nerve wrecking and scary, but has many interesting endings (also a secret one) 10/10 W game
This game was a surprise. I got recommended to play this by a friend who watched a funny youtube video on it and decided to ask me and someone else to play it. Of course, that someone else didn't want to play it so I did so instead. Nevertheless it was a very enjoyable experience and finding out how everything tied up together was and how
each playthrough is the exact same, only the main character sees it differently
I really enjoyed this and I really liked noticing all the little details about it especially on my last playthrough. Spoilered because it's the entire story.
The fact that the gunshot form the hunter clears out the mushrooms for the axe is such a brilliant move, because in the first playthrough, when we taqke the axe, the hunter/wolf yells out of anger about his axe disappearing. I also love how the hunter looks differently and sounds different based on what choices you make as the played, such as speaking normally when eating the normal food as well as actually being voice acted when you eat the stew. It's such a small detail, but it makes such a huge impact.
Thank you LuN! Edit:
Secret ending caught me off guard, but I may or may not have a new friend!
For as short of an experience as it is, I think Mucorales is a really clever take on Red Riding Hood. I especially liked
how your perspective of what's going on changes during a second playthrough where you don't eat the mushrooms
. There's also an even deeper twist to the story than what you might assume at first and it's pretty horrifying, but just like a second playthrough recontextualizes the events of the game, so does the twist when and if you figure it out. Not a involved experience gameplay-wise, but the storytelling is really unique in a refreshing way that I haven't seen in horror before.
a good supporting argument for why I never eat mushrooms
It was fun and creepy especially because mushrooms that cause hallucinations do exist. I think it was well done for a short horror experience. It was cool to see the differences when you make other choices. I'd definitely say it's worth the play for only 1-2 dollars.
Juego cortito pero que merece la pena, y mas siendo tan barato, si te gusta el terror psicologico (aunque esa etiqueta ya se use para cualquier cosa) y el body horror es muy recomendable
