As the sole expert on the case, your mission is to uncover the truth from a remote watchtower , deep in the heart of the Appalachian wilderness.
Using a sophisticated PC system connected to a network of trail cameras, you’ll monitor, document, and report any suspicious activity. As you dive deeper, prepare yourself for unexpected plot twists and a non-linear storyline that will keep you constantly on edge.

Trailcam is a thrilling little 1+ hour jaunt that's half anomaly finder, half immersive sim. You play a wildlife expert stationed atop an Appalachian forest tower. Strange things have been happening in these woods: hikers going missing, gruesome remains turning up, beastly claw marks at the scene of the crime...but no bodies have been found. Ranger services suspect an animal is to blame, so you must monitor 5 strategically-placed webcams and correctly identify any wildlife picked up by the motion detectors. Stuttering VHS-style night-vision feeds give everything a spooky air, and make it hard to see clearly: luckily, handy prompts tell you which feed to focus on. All you have to do is switch to the appropriate live-feed, and press the correct button to upload a snapshot as either a particular type of animal, a false-positive (motion sensors are sometimes triggered accidentally), or "suspicious". You can abandon your feeds at any time to wander around the tower, where you can answer the phone, stare fearfully at the shadowy wilderness all around you, or tinker with the "bear scare" device left by the rangers. I found the game incredibly atmospheric, and became deeply immersed in the whole experience: the creepy black and white footage, the fear of spotting an unidentifiable "something" on a camera, hearing terrifying sounds from the woods, the bone-rattling fury of an incoming storm...the whole ambience of this game is electrifying. Its plot beats build up to an exciting and nail-biting conclusion, with 2 possible endings and couple of elegantly-executed jumpscares - but, to be honest, I was a bit disappointed with the end reveal. That said, I had a great time getting creeped out by this game, and I immediately went back to replay and get the other ending! A couple of things bugged me: there are a few compulsory phone calls that you'll need to take, and the dialogue for these is unskippable. It's fine the first time around, but it makes replaying for the second ending (as there is no manual saving) a bit of a chore. Likewise, each plot beat / progression point has a somewhat arbitrary trigger, which isn't always clear: you may need to wander out onto the balcony, for instance, before a phone call will trigger. Not a problem on the initial play: more an issue on the replay. It can be unfairly difficult to identify the creatures on screen; not often enough to be a deal-breaker, but when you only have 6 chances to make mistakes - with a risk of game-over if you make further errors - I can see some people getting frustrated by this. That said, there were only a couple of points where I just couldn't work out what I was looking at - the rest simply require a bit of time and observation to pick out key distinctive features. Finally, despite the description claiming otherwise, the game is linear (all of the "anomalies" are in the same order each play through) bar the ending sequence, making replayability limited...unless you keep getting them wrong, of course! (I'd also have liked there to be other things to do in the tower - minigames, making coffee, or whatever - but they're just nice to haves.) TL:DR - a fantastically creepy observation game with an interesting premise and effective direction. It can be a little slow paced, but that's part of the appeal: the gradual build-up of tension and anxiety to a nail-biting conclusion. The ending was a bit of a let-down for me, but I'll happily replay this again when I'm in the mood for a short, one-session horror stint. Well worth the sale price IMO (and I'd personally have been happy to have paid full price). I played this on a Steamdeck, and it worked perfectly. I look forward to seeing what the devs do next. If you enjoyed this, I'd recommend checking out The Cabin Factory, too.
Great game but after a while just NOTHING happened. I waited liek 20 minutes but absolutely nothing happened. I can't find anyone else with this glitch but it was rather boring just sitting around waiting for something scary to happen or at least teh motion decetor to go off but no, it was completely still. I got bored and left
This game punishes you over and over again. At one point a doe is clearly shown but the game rejects the pick of that animal and instead okays the rabbit as a match! I live in Indiana and we have tons of deer. I know what a friggin deer looks like but apparently the game maker does not! Make too many mistakes and it sends you right back to the start every time! Extremely frustrating. Frustration should not be the goal here!
Had a couple moments, but it froze up on me and it surprised me that I got to an ending...so I guess it froze at the end? IDK, I'm still a little confused. LMAO. I don't recommend it. I kinda wish I'd watched a full YouTube video first. But I also will admit, it got my heart pumping!
Fun game, but a short game. I am curious if there are multiple endings. I am a bit disappointed in the killer's disguise. I would love to see a follow up that revealed the specifics of the crimes... like why they were committed.
Great idea, poorly executed. The time in between is wasted with just standing around. The ending has no resolution. Devs couldnt even be arsed with voice overs, as if you couldnt go on fiverr and hire an actor. The worst is that the game has no real resolution of the "story" at the end, it just abandons you. "Now you know" - what exactly? Not worth 5 bucks. I got it on sale and just played and finished it in my lunch break and still feel ripped off. Could have been a nice quick game, but wasnt.
Pros: It's a fun short game! Reminds me of Fears to Fathom Ironbark Lookout! I really enjoyed the graphics and felt it had pretty decent jump scares! I also liked having to race back and forth between the computer and trap + trying to spot the animals or whatever triggered the camera off in a short amount of time! A race against the clock in a way! Cons: I wish you could interact with the environment some more. Pick some items up and examine them, have a few things that are quick to read around for a little more entertainment while waiting for the cameras to go off. Luckily I had my chat with me to talk to when I had to restart the game (I didn't spot a few things and so the PC locks you out after 6 mistakes, meaning you have to start the game over). And either way it didn't take me long to get where I was, which was the end! I do see how this can be a bit of a slow game for some who may be playing by themselves... Overall Opinion- I liked the game! It seems to be the developers first one as well! You did really well with the atmosphere and the graphics, as I said earlier, are pretty nice! I know a lot of the reviews are negative, but it's a fun and short game to stream with friends in the middle of the night or for streaming platforms! I feel like throughout the game you can slowly piece the puzzle together of who is causing the disappearances as well! Either way, it was fun and got some good screams out of me and a bruised knee from when I accidentally jumped at one point! Continue improving, don't let the negative comments stop you! I hope to see more games come from you, and if you release anymore, I'm definitely ready to play!
Really cool horror game, liked the twist, would recommend getting it at sale price as it lacks replayability unless you're having someone else do it and are watching with them. It's not mandatory to wait for sale although you'd likely get value out of it at full price just less so. I love games in firetowers
Good game overall but MAKE AN OPTION TO CLOSE THE DOOR I FEEL MOLESTED BY THE WIND
