This is a really well crafted game. I haven't played anything like Papers Please ahead of this, but I wanted to play a game based around mental math to assuage my former gifted kid ego. But what you'll find is that the grading mechanics will soon get intuitive. Right when you thought you had a handle on it, you'll be given surprise after surprise with fun modifiers and even plot twists. Again, this is not really a game just about "mental math." It's about pattern recognition in a way that's not a chore, and where you can feel yourself improving as the game continues. The tutorial has a good amount of text up front, but just take your time learning the rules at the start. You'll find them natural in no time! I'll add on to the soundtrack being fantastic/catchy. Every two levels or so, you'll stumble upon a card that makes you laugh. I think this is a great game for streamers to check out for a day or two, because it has zero fluff and will keep you invested from start to finish. I wish they didn't include that pineapple yellow color scheme though, kinda hurts my eyes.

Fun concept with a fair price for what it offers. I just didn't find it fun. You have to use criteria you're provided and have to do low level math. I think the game would do better in schools than in my game library.

A very fun and more lighthearted take on the "make sure all of the details are correct" type of game. There's a story mode that gradually introduces different modifiers to the experience, some that change the rules of whether cards are valid, some that change the valuations, others that are simply distractions that disrupt your focus. As you clear these story mode levels those modifiers become available to enable in a free play mode that serves as an enjoyable way to continue playing the gameplay loop for as long as you feel like it. There are also some secrets to find and a story that gets told over the course of that story mode, but the main focus of the game is definitely the gameplay, and it's worth the asking price if the concept sounds appealing.

Managed to complete in full in nearly 8 hours. The story went places with its twists and turns. It was a joy to figure out how to unlock levels. The game wasn't too hard, or too easy, I really enjoyed it! (If you're unsure what kind of game this is, think "Papers, please!", except that in most levels you have unlimited time to make decisions (outside of one modifier that makes it so that you card loses information over time, that is the only exception and thankfully it is only present in a few levels).

You play as a trading card evaluator for a corporation that may or may not be evil. Choose the right value for the cards based on their stats and shred the fakes. Pretty simple, right? Well not when each level has unique stat modifiers as you progress, keeping the gameplay fresh but also ramping up the difficulty! But don't worry because by then you're already an expert, it is your job after all, and let's face it it's more fun than your real job. The story is very compelling with lots of fun twists and turns. You'll want to replay each level, not only to attempt a perfect, but also to unlock the branching paths giving you some surprises towards the end. And there is an endless mode where you can either challenge yourself or play more casually by picking whatever modifiers you want. What really shines here is the art and music. The visuals have a pleasing monochrome style and you can choose your colour scheme as you gradually unlock more. The game has tons of charming, funny, and dare I say beautiful characters making you want to collect all the cards. The tunes are fantastic and go from fun, head-bopping beats to ethereal.
