Toziuha Night: Order of the Alchemists

As an action game, plenty of fun but the balance was whacked. As a metroidvania, it fails and succeeds in two critical areas that made it a weird blend. It succeeds in making the areas distinct, fun to explore, filled with thematic enemy variety, and enjoyable to backtrack through. The bad is that the progression paths were batsh*t insane and I needed constant guides and an image of a 100% completed map with notes just to know where to go next once I reached about 50% of the map being uncovered. Equipment variety was slackalacking too, I wore the same gear from 40% to where I ended at 93%. Not because of balance, I just didn't find more Overall, I recommend on the caveat that you do the same as me and have a rough guide on hand since no walkthrough exists As a side note, soundtrack was a bop after bop, and the animation/art was glorious for the nostalgia of the igavania era. Funny note: The best caster gear short of the op stuff that you can grind to get is the swimsuit

extremely well made game, solid story and character writting for a metroidvania, very rewarding map to explore and great difficulty and enemy variety, gameplay itself and it's physics are very smooth to control. I think anyone who likes castlevania or metroidvanias in general should try this one

Returned because I didn't see an option to remap controller keys.

I'm having fun and I'm lost :)
