Long live the Old World :: VeRSION 1.60! Please update your BETA DX12 to mature 2026 flying grace and winning potential, or admit if all players must only play vERSIONS 2, or 3
DX12 plays MOST stable with Special K. Please use this to ensure your game files are under your save and key. This version of Total War: WARHAMMER [1.60] never got DX12 out of Beta phase.. sad,.. FPS totals show in this regard..RTX3070Ti ultra - SSAO off, 102PS on the global map, roughly 183 when saving game, and Cap of 200 in Nvidia app. When selecting DX12 in the Launcher, it informs you DX12(BETA). It has crashed with one battle from tutorial completed, everything else covered, And then going into second war, after tutorial finally out of my way. Crash on deciding whether to fight manually/auto-resolve/calculate, etc. DX11 testing was next by default launcher options, because no data was saved in that attempt. i would like to enjoy this, and have still got all my Troubleshooting steps still to go. DX11 just works, low FPS though :? mid-battles, like 50-80 , then 183 on the big map.. So far it saves quick, loads, skips, :) got to where i was in 10min instead of reading it all again,, Gonna try load game DX12 further ;) see how it goess No data was saved from that tutorial waste of time. Time to repeat....p.s. Spacebar to skip cinematics, whether you've seen them on or not :) Eventually this game just clicks, and it's a presentation of everything you'd love to go to war with your neighbours. You can be diplomatic in all the ways possible. Before you need to start claiming. There's constantly missions, new alerts, something happening. End Turn brings the biggest slow down as everyone else's decisions come to terms with yours. etc. etc. It's a masterpiece diamond in the rough, and if it scratches your itches to get this for system requirements rather than the newer ones, so be it. It's possible to play this and enjoy it and have a fully immersive table top experience of the Warhammer universe. Global map does not rotate though<> Or i must still find that hotkey. In-battle simulator, camera loves to be wherever you want it! >) On your Lord's Tail? So be it. It was smooth, transitioning, flipping/rotating cameras while on the battlefield was fine. No complaints, lag can obviously be there, based on where you are in the battle, your system, etc. I'll try compare if this camera was ever upgraded across the versions. See what did/did not improve in base line to this. I doubt this will get fixed, and it's sad to say, because this game's price ONLY had just a bit over double the value in DLC's - lots of nice free ones, still available for any new players to claim. The ones that all came after, all had more paid DLC, less free, and wayyyyyy bigger in game file size too. All 3 Total War: Warhammer's installed for the map/provinces, etc. will be 200GB - Mod free. Supposedly, there was also a thing about having them all installed, on top of each other to get some multi-game-multi-map-effect. Haven't seen that yet. Play at your own risk, game functions properly and all once a save file is going. Long live the Old World! My overall FPS is low, Will try a nice Special_K launch to see if we can improve it, SSAO DX12/BETA off is yet to crash., Otherwise, game content is a dream. If you know Total War, - Strategists, statistical people, this game is full over the top with everything you want and more. The targeting, who you're up against, what are your odds, save-scumm testing :P It's all inside. That's why DX12-BETA cannot make this a negative review. The platform functions, but it seems SEGA 'abandoned' it in hope of the newer content being the remaining gateways? the only ones? Best ones? The ones they can make the most $$$ off, where DLC collections are quadruple the base game's price for example. Their comment can let us know. Comments open always Thank you for all included items too, package comes with: "LORD OF CHAOS Rob Sanders" 960 page PDF. and some other goodies, under the Local files 'Extras' folder.

Steep learning curve but once you figure it out and lose a lot it is very fun!
Amazing game that can provide countless hours of fun. However, beware of the dlc. And issues with servers crashing and removing your content.

This game is pointless to play when the sequels are so much better. Despite the flaws I think this still a great RTS, Warhammer, and Total War game in general. A great way to introduce people to the Warhammer Fantasy universe. However, the game itself is overly complicated with its game mechanics which I am glad the sequel tries to streamline it more to make it simpler. And the amount of content hidden behind paid DLC is disgusting but not surprising, and of course overpriced even on sale! I would recommend skipping this one and playing the sequel, Warhammer Total War 2 which is still the best game in the Warhammer Total War trilogy that improves and fixes off of this game. Also the absence of the Skaven is a huge thumbs down from me which is why I would recommend skipping this game and getting the sequel which introduced them. Also having the blood and gore be separate paid DLC is disgustingly greedy and is ironic because Warhammer is meant to be bloody and gory!
