Приятный платформер с милыми персонажами и забавной механикой сражения на аренках!
I didn't like the game at all, it turned out to be kind of boring. Drawing is simple, color tones from level to level are similar.
Toru is more Russian asset flip shovelware from "Vadd Games", either a shell account or closely linked to Russian scam accounts "ImperiumGame", "Repa Games" etc (some of those accounts are now banned from Steam). It's a really badly made low effort 2D action/puzzle platformer, in this case probably not an asset flip, but, like "MrBadim"'s many scamware offerings, probably just "borrowed" from some other developer and dumped onto Steam as a cash grab... the number of fake reviews on the game should be warning enough about what we're getting into with these shady Russian shovelware pushers. Of course, reviews are about the games and Russian shovelware like this makes up some of the worst of gaming, and "Toru" is no exception. Let's get into the technical defects. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The developers didn't design the game for modern gaming PCs, as such the display resolution caps out at around 1440p, there's no support for the state-of-the-art 4K or higher resolutions. The game simply won't look right on modern gaming displays due to this failure on the part of the developers. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. The low poly artwork is probably at least in some part asset flipped... the game itself is just a "template flip", the developer dropped a few things lazily onto the Unreal Engine side scrolling template/blueprint. Very little in the way of real game development took place here, which explains why the product is such poor quality. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 6 players, and the worst part is these weren't genuine players, these were the Russian fake review accounts that the developer paid to make the fake reviews. Since the fake reviews are all done, now the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected.
Warning: Review Manipulation! This game features a large number of fake positive reviews from accounts known to be in the business of review manipulation/paid reviews. They're all written in either Russian or broken English, appear at almost exactly the same time, very shortly after the game launched on Steam, all have a direct Steam purchase of the game, and the accounts are used consistently to write fake reviews for asset flips and other cash grabs/scams. The "Positive" review score on this game should be disregarded due to this blatant, unethical review manipulation. This is done to deceive and scam gamers into paying for a bad product.
So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam? Toru has the gamer gouging price of around $9 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the unethical nature of the developer. For comparison, the $9 asking price for this game could get you games like "Euro Truck Simulator 2", "Assetto Corsa" or "X-Com: Enemy Unknown". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
Toru is a game with pleasant minimalistic graphics, an interesting storyline, hardcore gameplay and a cozy atmosphere. Imho, the game more than justifies its price.
I beat everyone with a box, the best weapon in this game. I advise everyone to boxes, the boxes are cool. 8 boxes of 10
добротный платформер с приятной графикой, разнообразным геймплеем Боссы в наличии
Довольно прикольный платформер с интересным сюжетом. Однозначно рекомендую.
A very cute and short game with some goofy humor and fun gameplay.
