Tomb Raider: Legend

A Good Fun game, short and sweeet, the puzzles and gameplay are just challenging enough to make you learn but also fun! If you love tomb raider games this ones worth checking out. Got it onsale for 1.30 Canadian and it is worth every loney. Game is optimized very well, and looks great for 2008! Played on SteamDeck LCD 2.8 / 5 Stars. Fun Game. Puzzles and Action!

Very fun game. I decided to play it after realising that it came before tomb raider anniversary: a game I played as a 6 year old child. I wanted to try understand the storyline and saw it was on discount for a very low price in 2026 :0. A little bit buggy and you can tell it's a very old game, but if you focus on the storyline and the gameplay, you forget about the graphics and clunky mechanics. I don't want to spoil too much so I'll quickly mention that it includes an English myth, and I like how they found a plot to prove that the myth is true (in the game. It's still a myth in reality). If you're looking forward for the new Atlantis tomb raider coming out early next year in 2027 then this game will exercise your adventure/puzzle skills. I would also recommend having a playthrough available as these older tomb raiders are quite confusing at times, and because it's not designed for modern pc's you might dismiss and idea that was actually the correct idea to progress. But yeah I hope you give it a go if you're looking for a quick challenge :D

Some bugs are quite annoying. They might kill all the fun I had a problem with loading my save game once and had to play vast majority of the mission from beginning. Apart from these, game is not terrible for an old one

One of my favorite games of the reboot series. The soundtrack is some of the best and the platforming is the most polished and glitch free out of the era. I also didn't get lost much, I only got stuck about 2 times in my first playthrough and it's straightforward in how it's laid out. The story isn't anything to write home about, but the map variety, variety in boss battles and environments and puzzles to climb around are absolute 10/10! My only gripe with this game is that the motorcycle sequences suck, everything else is good! The boss battles feel like Elden Ring at times, but it never gets to the point that it's infuriating. You always have plenty of time to execute the boss killing moves. I even went back for a second playthrough on timed mode because of how smooth and predictable the platforming is. The OST is by far the best of this era and It has this awesome early 2000's nostalgia downtempo feel. The tracks have BASS, which was the first thing that caught my attention. It's truly electric and I found myself playing for the music after a certain point. Best level OSTs In my opinion are: Japan, Nepal and Croft Manor. I feel such a sense of calm whenever I hear the Croft Manor theme from this game. If you are concerned about game stability, there is a fan patch that aims to fix some of the engine issues. https://steamcommunity.com/app/7000/discussions/0/616189742648003342/ Out of the box you will be fine all the way up to the last 3 levels before you encounter a crash, first one that crashed for me was the Kazakhstan level. Turn off next gen content in the video settings and the stability will be 100%. Another bonus if you love the puzzles, most levels have a gold artifact and that is it's own challenge, you might be scratching your head for a bit trying to figure them out on a blind playthrough but it's always so satisfying. Also Croft Manor is a really strong level, I had a lot of fun climbing around and finding everything. My main negative points for this game are the story (seriously, it's kind of underwhelming), the graphics are good for the time but quite dated, and the motorcycle levels get really frustrating. The other main gripe I have is the checkpoints are sometimes too far apart. The quicktime sequences are OK, but they could have done them better and they are better in Underworld. At 0.97 cents it's a good buy, this game runs on genuinely any hardware. I was running 1080p 60fps on my work laptop that has a 6 year old ryzen 5 and integrated graphics on power saving mode. It's also compatible with steam cloud, so play it a bit on a laptop, play some more on your main rig, hell download it on your mom's computer and pickup right where you left off!
