Still fantastic fun after so many years. Tactical/Cover shooters are a sadly lost art. Be warned that some parts feel a bit rushed, the game ends unexpectedly and the story feels kind of half-baked but you can just ignore that and focus on the shooting. The rushed feeling bleeds into some shooting sections. There are some janky angles (as always with this series) that expose you even behind cover and you can't find a good angle to engage (or without a window frame blocking your shot). Also, some missions fail for no discernible reason but usually it's because a teammate was downed ... or you ran ahead of the little room you were supposed to sit in for longer. It also crashed a few times until I set the exe to compatibility mode with Windows Vista. Anyway, still holds up great! Get it when it's cheap!
I really enjoyed the story and game mechanic. Tom Clancy games never fail me. holds up even after 20 years.
Excellent game. No annoying boss fights, and you can control the difficulty while you are playing by deciding how much to use your NPC teammates.
Rainbow Six Vegas held up very well for me. I'm a bit of a sucker for more tactical gameplay and cover-shooters, so this surely clicked for me. Story is ... there, graphics are 20yo at this point still holding up well, but the gameplay is spot on. Planning ahead and coordinating team mates is necessary, especially on higher difficulties - and very rewarding. Sometimes the AI is a bit underwhelming and a handful of difficulty-spikes kicked my ass. But visiting Vegas is still well worth a visit, even in 2026!
Meh... Pretty sure that multiplayer mode was a banger back in the day. But singleplayer is poor man CoD. With confusing map layout and constant pixel hunting of where hordes of enemies are shooting from. I dunno what is the point of actually including silencers in the game when enemy always knows exactly where you are. Overall the game feels as downgrade to RS3 in all aspects from weapons arsenal and its stats, to operatives dossiers, to not having their stats throughout campaign. Honestly if I wouldnt love RS3 I wouldnt buy this. And yeah, I wouldnt miss anything. Having hard time to even push through single camplaign cause it becomes so tedious and boring. Shooting is alright for its age though, as I said - no wonder that this game was decent in sales, multiplayer was fun when it was alive
