i really love this game. When getting hit actually matters not like the newest games

Where do I start? I used to have this on PlayStation 2 when I was a Kid. There came a time where the scratches on it got intense, and it reached the point of no return. And that was the end of it. I did play it often but never really got far into it, until recently. After all this time...(And a bit older this time around!) I'm glad to have gotten as far as I have now. One more thing crossed off the Bucket list! With that said, I've yet to play anything quite like it, see anything like it? As I've said before about older Tom Clancy games, even for their Age; They can still hold up to modern games. I'd even go as far as to say their better and more challenging than more recent releases?? But thats personal opinion, "to each their own" There still is a small multiplayer fanbase out there from what I understand?, I'm glad to have experienced that. Even though I'm way late to the party. It's fun. You won't know until you get it and play it yourself. Stay Frosty.
Great that is allows more than 4 co-op players. Mostly one shot and you're dead but setting 5 respawns seems to make Players more cautious and not penalise them too much. Good objectives variations.
Went back to play the classic on a whim, and it holds up remarkably well. A difficult game to be sure though.
100% impossible to complete this without savescumming the quicksave and quick load. The enemies you face have the most extreme form of aimbot and will 1 shot you and/or your squadmates instantly. You cannot utilize any actual tactics and strategy when ordering your teams because of this. They can't fight for themselves independently and navigate the map without dying. For all the positive reviews of this game you will see - it's all blind nostalgia. If you can't finish a mission solely from the command screen by giving orders to your AI squadmates then it's bad game. The levels are also heavily scripted. There will be an instance where you'd trigger a flag for 2 Russian tanks to drive down a valley with you to ambush it on the cliff sides. When you trigger the flag x2 enemies will spawn out of nowhere and start sprinting towards you from behind. After a few quicksave reloads, you will realize where they come from having spawned out of nowhere and do a 180 degree turn to anticipate them. In doing so, you will break all immersion and satisfaction.
It's just a damn good game. Multiplayer mode is bound to be epic I'm sure but the singleplayer alone is very much entertaining as well (IT'S INSANELY DIFFICULT THOUGH). It also runs great on a modern system with win 11.
